Chapter 62

Visiting.

Leo POV

Reyna left the Argo and flew back to Camp Jupiter as soon as we were back in New York. Everything was settled between us and not a single drop of bad blood remained. Aside from that, Calypso was a bit aggressive until we made it back to Camp Half Blood.

Not that I mind of course, but a guy gets tired when he needs as much oxygen he can get, you know?

Anyway, I docked the Argo at the lake and Callie and I went back to Bunker 9 to get some sleep together.

Luckily, Hades decided to visit me in my dreams again...

There I stood, in a grassy field with a very somber atmosphere. The wind was cold not in temperature, but in emotion. In the distance I saw a black suited man. I walked towards him and soon, I stood in front of my mother's grave.

" Valdez. " Hades spoke.

" Hello, Lord Hades. "

The man turned to me and analyzed me with pitch black eyes.

" I've come to understand that you wish to introduce Calypso to your mother. You are aware that this is not a simple request, yes? "

" Fully aware. "

" The strings I would have to pull, or rather the fates would have to pull, are ones that are not done so easily. I would first have to consult the big guy upstairs about this matter. "

My mind filled with questions. One of which was " But aren't you The Lord of the underworld? Don't you get the say-so when it comes to things like this? "

" That may be true, but don't forget Valdez that Zeus controls everything. If I were to act without first consulting him it would cause...for lack of a better word trouble. "

I sighed. " That kind of sucks..."

" Do not worry. I will do all that I can to ensure you and you're lover can see your mother. "

I smiled then wondered. " Not that I don't appreciate the help, but why are you doing this for a guy like me? "

Hades smirked, which was a sight to make any guy sweat. His smirk wasn't happy or confident...more like a smirk that signified chaos was about to ensue.

" Normally I would not be doing these things as they conflict with the natural order of things, but Aphrodite can strike fear in even me. "

I almost laughed. The sight of Aphrodite managing to scare Hades was something I wanted to see.

" Well again, thank you. "

Hades waved me off and I awoke. I turned to the side to see my alarm clock. *6:00 AM*

Damn you Hades...couldn't you have held a conversation for at least another hour?

I attempted to get out of bed, but Calypso's arm held me in place. Why is it that a girl is stronger when she's sleeping?

After some strange maneuvering and moving her arm around I was finally free from her grasp and I made my way to the bathroom.

I closed the door behind me and turned on the shower. I took off my boxers as stepped in. The heat woke me and still managed to relax my muscles. It felt amazing to be at ease for the first time in about 2 weeks.

I heard knocking from the door and I turned the shower off. The person knocked again.

" Someone's in here...something you need? " I asked.

" Leo? " Calypso's voice came from the other side of the door.

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I opened the door to find her cloaked in the blanket from my bed.

" What is it Sunshine? Is everything okay? "

" I woke up and you weren't there...I was just wondering why you woke up so early... " Calypso developed a small blush and seemed to be having trouble keeping eye contact with me. Sure I was scrawny, but I was still in shape. Demigod training'll do that to you.

" Sorry Callie, I woke up because Hades decided to wave me off and end our discussion before the sun rises. "

" Hades? What did he want? Is something the matter? "

" No, not at all. He was just talking to me about visiting my mom. "

Calypso developed the biggest smile a tired person could.

" And? " She asked eagerly.

" He's going to talk to Zeus today and see if he can allow the fates to pull some strings for you to meet her. "

Her smile died.

" Why would he need Zeus' approval? Doesn't he run things downstairs? "

" I asked him the same thing, but if he did this without asking Zeus, a misunderstand could cement itself and a war may be at hand. "

Calypso still frowned.

" Oh. Well than can we still sleep? At least until Hades gives you an answer to our request? " She held her hand out.

" Uhhhhh Callie... I'm kind of wade awake already..."

" I don't care. Put on your boxers and let's go back to bed. "

I did as she said and before I knew it, we were back in bed.

Calypso groaned.

" Dammit Leo. Now I can't sleep. "

I laughed nervously. " Sorry, I guess. Hey, I've got an Idea. "

" Lay it on me Repair Boy. "

" We could go for a fly on Festus. Watch the sun rise. "

" That's not for another 2 hours. "

" Time flies when you're on Festus. Trust me Sunshine. "

She sighed. " Fine. "

We got out of bed and changed lazily. We both slipped on jeans, one of my white shirts (which by the way made Calypso look 10x cuter), and our shoes. We walked out of Bunker 9 and snuck I our way to the Argo.

Once aboard I used the Argo's computer to call Festus. He showed up a little while later.

I helped Calypso climb aboard and I followed. She wrapped her arms around my waist and Festus took flight. The sky was still dark, as it was only 6:30. We flew for what felt like 5 minutes, but in reality was an hour.

Slowly, the sky turned blue and the clouds became a pink hue.

Calypso rested her head on my shoulder. " Leo, this is amazing. Why haven't we done this before? "

" I don't know Callie. I never really thought of asking you. "

" Well you should have. "

I smirked and Callie pecked my cheek. I guess there is a point to waking up early. Who wouldn't want to see the Sun slowly rise and restart the day? The sky is amazing at this time of day.

Though, I can't help but feel that Callie is still prettier.
