Chapter 38

The Best Part.

Leo POV

Calypso and I were both a bit tired from all the questions we had to answer. So when we heard that Zeus and Aphrodite wanted to talk to both of us, we were less than thrilled.

" Now for the best part! " Aphrodite had quite the smile on her face. Showing her perfectly white teeth as she stared at Calypso and I.

" Now that you are two are official. Zeus said, and I couldn't agree more, if you two wish to remain together, within the next five years you two must be..." She wouldn't finish her sentence on purpose. Impatient suspense built between Calypso and I. Aphrodite finally decided to complete her previous sentence.

" Married! "

After that, my mind wandered and my body froze. Calypso blushed and looked at me. She waved her hand in my face a couple times and said my name, but I was lost.

She kissed me and I returned to my body.

" Could you repeat that? " I asked.

" You heard me! You two must be married within the next five years! " Aphrodite squealed for about a minute and Calypso was smiling with a light blush on her cheeks.

Zeus decided to speak. " If you are not, she will go back to Ogygia. Despite what she said, this was entirely Aphrodite's idea. She wanted to ensure your relationship. " Zeus seemed scared at the moment. Aphrodite gave him a death stare that could probably rival Hades'.

"Okay, so it was. But that is all; you two can leave. " After Aphrodite said that, Zeus teleported Calypso and I back to my forge.

I sat on my bed, still lost on thought and Calypso stood in front of me. She sat on my lap, her legs behind me and us face to face. A different thing for her to do, but why would I mind.

" Leo, are you okay? " She had a hint of sadness in her voice.

" Huh? Of course? Why wouldn't I be? "

I cupped her cheek in my hand and she grabbed it with her own.

" Well...you didn't really say anything in there...you didn't smile either...is it because...you don't want to be married to me? " Her eyes became watery.

Why is it that whenever she wants a happy response from me, I go silent and she becomes all self-conscious? Of course I want to marry her, it's just a bit of a shock to find out that I have to now.

" Sunshine, of course I do. I wouldn't have it any other way. It was just a little shocking, that's all. Plus, I'm practically being forced to now, I wanted to propose on my own terms, not the gods'. " A smile returned to her face and her eyes sparkled.

" So, you do want to marry me? "

I answered her question for a kiss, which she quickly made more intense.

She broke apart from me.

" I'm so happy. I thought for a minute you wouldn't want to marry me. "

" You're crazy. I'm no where near good enough to marry you, but I was going to ask anyway. " I gave her one of my elf grins and she kissed me.

" So, about what your dad said..."

I laughed nervously as I remembered.

" I don't want to have kids unless you want to. " What Calypso just said made me realize something. Of course she wants kids. She wants the whole fabled tale of true love. She was just saying this to ease me a little bit.

" Callie, I want kids, but I only want them when we know we're ready for them. Oh, and Hedge would kill me if we did before we were married. " She started to cry after I spoke.

" Are you crying? Did I say something wrong? " My foot began to tap and it could be heard through the room.

She sobbed for a couple minutes which only made me worry about what I had said more.

" You're the crazy one Valdez. " She spoke in between sniffles.

" What? "

" You're perfect. And you are way too good for me. " She hugged me for a long while. Her breath tickled my ear. I decided it was time I finally re-ask her a very important question.

" Hey Calypso? "

" Yes, Leo? "

" Did you still want to open up that mechanic shop? You know, Leo and Calypso's Garage: Auto Repair and Mechanical Monsters? "

I could hear her crying again. She stopped hugging me and started crying into my chest.

" Dammit Leo! Stop making me cry! "
