~Josephine's POV
I found Josh standing at the gym's door, so I decided to be with him. He was watching Jen and Nick at the door's window, and we saw everything. Nick kissed Jen, and they looked pretty much in love.
"What the--" I said while I saw them kiss.
I looked at Josh, and his eyes were being filled with tears. I still see him holding the rose, so I suspect that he was about to give it to Jen, but she went inside the gym for Nick.
"I'm doomed. I have no chance with her."
"Josh..." I told him, but he ran away and put the rose at Jennifer's locker instead, placing it inside a vent. We immediately went outside, and we both went inside the bus.
"Josh...I don't know what to say."
"I was too late." He tells me while starting to cry.
"No one's too late in love." I tell him, giving him a little encouragement.
"I am, so I must be a no one, who doesn't fit with Jen, who's never going to have her."
"No, don't look at it that way."
"How should I?"
"That maybe Jen doesn't really like Nick, and..."
"Did you see the kiss?"
"Let me finish, Josh."
"Fine then, say more false theories."
"They could be true you know. As I was saying, maybe Jen was only forced to kiss Nick, because Nick kissed her."
"But she would have backfired, wouldn't she?"
"Why don't you try restarting your friendship with Jen? Maybe she thinks that you're mad at her, and that is why she wouldn't talk to you."
"I don't even have the guts. I'm not even sure if I should talk to her."
"I tell you, talking it out makes it better."
"And if she gets mad at me?"
"Forever and always, remember? Of course, you get to cry on my shoulder as long as you want, and I will help you find another one."
"And if you can't?"
"You'd be with Jen then."
~Jennifer's POV
Kissing Nick was an experience I would like to get rid of. It was gross, then he asks me to be his girl? Why didn't I reject his kiss? Why did I continue? I asked my mom about it without saying that I kissed someone.
"Mom?"
"Yes, Jen?"
"Can I ask you something serious?"
"Sure, why not?"
"See, my friend was forced to kiss this guy who she is positive that he is just her friend. The only problem is, when the kissed happened, she didn't reject it, she kissed him back instead. What does that mean?"
"You're friend secretly likes the guy. If you want to advise her, tell her that she is in love with the guy, and they should totally hang out with him."
"But what if she's sure that she's in love with someone else?"
"I'm afraid that that means like she likes the guy she kissed more than the one she sure that she loves."
"Thanks mom, a lot. I know what to tell her now."
"You're welcome, honey."
I went upstairs to get my phone and talk to Jo. She was my side all this time, she always listens to what I have to say. This time, I called her.
