~Josephine's POV
When Jen went with her parents, Josh and I were left on our own.
"You and Jen totally killed out there. A lot of people were struck by your kiss, you know." I tell Josh.
"It was her idea."
"Really?"
"She was the one who kissed me the second time, and I kissed her when it was for the third time."
"Aww, Josh is growing up."
We both laughed until something bright met with our eyes.
"Josh, look out!" I yell at him. He slammed on the brakes so hard that I hit my head at the windshield.
"Are you alright?" He asks me.
"Just a speed bump. It's okay." I try to ease him up.
Outside, we could see Nick's friends telling us to get out. Josh was about to lock the doors, but they were able to open the doors and pull us out.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the girlfriend stealer." Nick told Josh.
"She didn't even say yes to you! And aren't you supposed to be with Emerald?" I tried to defend Josh.
Nick slapped me hard in the face. "Shut up!" Nick tells me.
Josh pushed him away from me though, but things got ugly.
"Hold her!" Nick orders his other friend. With both of his friends holding me tight, I couldn't help Josh the way he helped me.
He was there, being totally helpless, crashed on the floor, weakened by tough blows of two fists. He was being beaten up, because Nick thinks that Josh stole his girlfriend. I can see him getting bruises, and I did all I can to set me free. I could see the blows being stronger, and I could feel his friends' grip getting stronger. I tried to do gymnastics, but they did everything they could so I won't move.
Josh, I'm sorry I couldn't save you. This is my fault. If I have only shut my mouth.....
Finally, all stopped when Nick decided to stop. Josh was weak, still crashed on the floor, complete with some bruises at his arm. They went away really fast, and I was just with Josh on the floor. I helped him up and let him sit on the floor. I removed his shirt to see if there are any more bruises at his body. I was able to see one at his chest area. I took for my bag for first aid.
"Here, place this over here." I gave him my cold water bottle and led his hand to his bruises.
"Jo........I'm.....fine." He tells me weakly.
"No, you're not. You need to go to the hospital." I tell him.
"What.....a..bout...your...face?" He asks me, still weakly.
"It's fine. Don't worry."
"No....look...at....it." He puts his hand over my cheek. "It's.....really....red."
"It will only hurt if you touch it. I don't care about it. I have to take you to the hospital."
I helped him up and I let him sit at his car. When he's already seated, I took him to the hospital.
I helped him up again and we went to the hospital together. The nurse immediately took him from me and the staff took care of him.
"Jo, look at your cheek." She tells me. I remember her from this morning. She was the one who assisted us when I was discharged.
"It's fine. It just turned red." I tell her calmly.
"He's the guy from last night, is he?"
"Yeah. He's the one."
