~Josephine's POV

It was the first day of school. Better yet, the first day of High School. I was still turning fifteen. I was happy to enter school with my friend, Josh, who happens to be my cousin Ellie's childhood friend. He will be turning fifteen on October 12. I was lucky to have a friend that I knew before I entered this school, because it's really hard for me to socialize, especially if you're a shy and boyish girl. We went down the hallway like idiots together when Josh decided to break the ice.

"Is it your first time here in Louisville, Jo?" Yup, he calls me Jo.

"No, and I'm sure that it's not your first time, either."

"So, you're ready to enter high school?"

"No, you?"

"I think this is going to be a long year."

We both laughed until we bumped at a blonde girl.

"Hey, are you okay?" Josh asked her. She looked at him and he stared back. I think it was about 5 more seconds until she replied back.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"We're really sorry we bumped into you." I told her while helping to pick up her stuff.

"No, it's okay, I actually think it's funny." She told me with a smile.

"What's your name?" Josh asked her.

"Oh, right. Jennifer. Jennifer Shrader Lawrence. You can just call me Jen."

"Hi, I'm Josephine. He calls me Jo, so I guess you can also call me Jo."

"Well, I'm Josh. Josh Hutcherson, to be specific."

"So, I guess we can go to our classrooms now?" I told the both of them, who seems to be lost at each other's eyes.

"Yeah. Wanna come with us, Jen?" Josh tells Jen.

"Sure, thanks." She replies.

We all went ahead to look at which section do we belong. We all saw that Jen and Josh were classmates, and unfortunately, I'm not with them. I talked to them after we saw the sectioning board.

"So, I guess this is goodbye, for now?" I tell them after reading the board.

"Well, sorry Jo, it seems as if you're separated with us." Josh told me playfully.

"Oh, shut up!" I hissed back at him jokingly. "Well, I'll be going now, see you later?"

"Yeah, we'll see you later, Jo." Josh told me.

~Jennifer's POV

"So, do you know where we will go?" Josh told me.

"Yeah, it's somewhere in the second floor, I think." I replied.

During the walk to our classroom, we decided to know more about each other.

"So, Jennifer, is it your first time here in Louisville?"

"No, I actually live here."

"Really?"

"Yes. How about you?"

"I live in Union."

"Wow, that's a few counties away from here. How do you live here, then?"

"Friend of my parents' house."

"Oh. Any brothers?"

"One, Connor. You?"

"Two, Ben and Blaine."

"Favorite subject?"

"Recess. How about yours?"

"Math."

"Smart cookie?"

"No, delicious cookie."

"Huh, girly-girl or sporty girl?"

"Just equal. Be chased by zombies or facing the apocalypse?"

"I'd rather kill myself."

We had a really great talk until the school bells rang. We had to rush to our classroom. By the time we went there, I know something.

Being friends with Josh is one thing I will never regret.

~Josh's POV

"Good morning, class!"

"Good morning, Ms. Franco!"

"So, in case you missed, I will be your homeroom teacher, and this will be your classroom. If you noticed, I have papers here. What you will do to break the ice today is that you will get one paper write down two truths and one lie about you. When we're all done, we read it in front of the class and they will try to guess which one is the lie. The next person is the person at your left."

We all did what Ms. Franco told us and by the time we were done, Emerald, the ultra-rich girl in class, went first.

"One, My mom's name is Amethyst, and my sisters are Sapphire and Ruby. Two, I have a grand total of 5 pairs of real diamond earrings. Three, we're bankrupt. Which one is the lie?"

You seriously cannot be kidding me. The answer is too obvious.

Next came Eric, a boy who has a lot of piercings and tattoos.

"One, all my tattoos are fake. Two, I only have two piercings. Three, I'm actually gay."

Okay, it was three, but honestly, I don't wanna judge him unlike the others.

Next came Jennifer.

"One, I was a big fan of 'N Sync when I was younger. Two, I honestly think that I am a good cook. Three, I wanna walk through times square naked already."

I guessed three. I was surprised though that it was two, but then with her silly self, then I guess it's valid.

I went next. I sat next to Jen because she's the only person I know so far in the class.

"One, I'm legally blind. Two, I had two imaginary friends before. Three, I had frosted tips when I was little because I wanted to be in a boy band."

They all chose three, but the correct answer was one. I think they didn't consider one because I was wearing glasses.

After class, Jen asked me about my glasses.

"Josh, why do you wear glasses when you don't need it anyway?"

"It's complicated."

"Oh yeah?"

"What?"

"Tell me!" And then she started tickling me.

"Jen, stop!"

"I won't stop until you tell me!" She said with a mean sarcastic giggle.

I was about to tell her when she was distracted by the announcement we saw at the school bulletin board. It tells something about which club are you going to join. Just in time, Jo came near us and read the bulletin board, too.

"So, which club are you guys joining in?" Jo asked us after reading the bulletin board.

"I'm not sure yet." I told her.

"Me either." Jen told us.

"Anyways, let's go have lunch." Jo changed the subject. We nodded our heads in response and went ahead to eat lunch.

~Jennifer's POV

It was already dismissal time. Josh and I went ahead to meet up with Jo. Outside, my ride was already waiting for me.

"Jen, are you coming with us?" Jo asked me.

"No, my ride's here. Anyways, I'll see you guys tomorrow?" I told them.

"Yeah, see you!" Jo told me before they went away.

I came inside the car as soon as I saw Jo and Josh went inside the school bus. For some reason, I was sad. I didn't know why though.
