~Josephine's POV
We can tell that Jennifer's getting busier with her job. Well, it's either that or maybe it's just that our time never match. Every time we would be online, she isn't. Every time she would be online, we aren't. Plus, with this being the final year of high school, there's just a lot of things to do. Anyway, we still send each other messages, but we don't reply to each other in time.
Weeks later, I received news.
Jennifer came home!
I thought that maybe this is the time when I'll finally be able to talk to her, so I jumped in when the opportunity came. I asked Josh to come, too, and he seemed to be "glappy" (glad and happy at the same time) enough to come with me. I couldn't wait to see Jen again, and when we were finally in front of her house, I immediately opened the car door and came running inside. I rand the doorbell and her mother answered their door.
"Hi Mrs. Lawrence!" I tell her while smiling. "Is Jen home?"
"Yes, do come in! In fact she's just about to invite you here. Is Josh here too?" Her mother tells me.
"Always here, Mrs. Lawrence." I looked back. I didn't know that he was already behind me. Anyway, her mother let us in the house and we waited for Jen at the living room.
"So this is awkward....seeing Jen again?" Josh tells me with a nervous smile.
"Well, in your case. All I feel right now is excitement. You should get some, too." I tell him straightly.
"I just hope she'll remember me, you know?"
"Of course she remembers you, Josh, it's not like she had amnesia or something."
"What did I miss?" She asks us as she descends the stairs. I stood up and ran. She ran downstairs, too. When she was on the floor, she hugged me really tight, as if we haven't seen each other in years.
...maybe Josh was right?...
No, he isn't. Because after our hug, she saw Josh and the tiredness in her eyes seemed to disappear. Like they were immediately watered.
Okay, I was right. Because after I thought of that, she was crying. Small tears of joy, just like how they call it. She then went toward Josh and gave him a large hug. He started crying, too.
"I'm really happy you're here. I'm sorry I wasn't able to say goodbye. I'm not regretting that, though." He tells her with a sudden twist.
She let go and looked at him. "Why?" She asks confusingly.
"I'll never be ready to let you go." He tells her with a smile. Because of that, she kisses him on the lips. When they stopped, she immediately said something to Josh.
"I've always craved for that taste since the day I left." She tells him while giggling. He giggles, too, and says that he feels the exact same way.
Don't you just ship these two?
I couldn't help it anymore. I backed away to give space...and, giggled, a little bit...
"What's so funny?" Josh asks me in an annoyed tone.
"Nothing. I just like seeing the good times." I tell him defensively.
They both giggled and I left. Jen chased me out the door.
"Where are you going?" She asks me.
"I thought you two needed more time. Go ahead. I don't mind anyway." I tell her with a smile. She runs to me and hugs me. Tight.
"Thanks, Jo. You really are my best friend." She tells me while we hug. I pat her on the back after we let go. I then headed home alone and just waited for details.
