Chapter 11

~Jennifer's POV

Today is the day when we finally do the play. We were excused for the whole day, and that's when I saw that Josh was telling the truth.

I saw Nick kissing Emerald.

Nick doesn't know that I showed up. He thinks that he and Emerald are alone. When I finally saw them end the kiss, I approached Nick.

"So, I think you had a really great time." I tell him straight.

"Jen, it's not what you think."

"It's not what I think? That I think that you and Emerald kissed just a while ago? That you've been hanging out with her?" Did I mention that Jo texted me last night saying that Josh was telling the truth with Nick going out with Emerald?

"Jen...."

"First of all Nick, this doesn't hurt me, since I didn't agree to be your girlfriend anyway."

"You agreed."

"I didn't say anything, Nick, I only spent more time with you. What's your plan anyway? To make out with your true love, Emerald, and make me feel like a fool because you think that I fell in love with you? Well congrats, you're finally with your true love. I was still a fool though, I underestimated someone because your plan put me into a spell which made me hang out with you more than that someone. I realized that I've made a mistake. Get away from me, Nick."

"Jen, that wasn't the plan!"

"Oh really? Then how do you explain this? You hang out with two girls at the same time? Congrats, two-timer."

He couldn't say anything. Almost everyone who hates them gave a small applause to me, and they walked out of the school hall. A lot of people said that I was really brave to take down Nick and Emerald just like that. It accidentally became a commercial for the school play, though.

The play - where I will prove Josh that I love him.

A few hours before the play, Jo showed up.

"Can I have your autograph, Miss Lawrence?" She asks me happily.

"Come on Jo, I'm not famous."

"You will be. I've heard that a lot of people are coming to the school play."

"Well, I just hope that they'll enjoy the school play."

"You're going to kiss, aren't you?"

I only gave her a wink. She totally understood it.

Finally, it was time to do the school play.

I'll just skip to the kissing scene.

"Even though our parents don't want us together, I still want you to know that you are my only one." He tells me.

"How can you be sure?"

"We almost have the same likes, we love each other, and you're mine." He tells me with a smile.

"I'm sure that you are my only one, too."

"How?"

"Because you're the one for me."

Under a mistletoe, Josh and I kissed. To the surprise of the audience, they all clapped and couldn't believe that Josh and I kissed. In front of an audience. I didn't mind them. I knew that there was only one kiss in the script, but I thought, no. You have to prove that your love for him is real. So, as if it was part of the script, I kissed him again. I felt him reject a little bit, but then when we kissed for the third time, he was the one who did the first move. When we stood up to go backstage at the end of the scene, Josh talked to me in confusion.

"What was that?" He asked me.

"I'm sorry, Josh, for freaking out yesterday. I didn't think. It took me the whole night to realize that I was wrong."

"Look, Jen, I should be the one apologizing. If I only knew what to say, then I guess you wouldn't be like that."

"It's okay, Josh. I love you."

We hugged. With tears. I cried at his shoulder, and he wiped my tears for me.

"Jo's dad told me last night that I should always go for a happy ending. And to me, Jen, you're my happy ending." He whispers to me.

I was touched by what he said.

"You're my happy ending, too." I whisper to him.

To prepare for the next scene, Josh and I changed. The next scene is when we find out that we were twins. We were heartbroken, but when we realize that if we can love each other, why won't we share the love with our parents so that there would be a chance for them to be lovers once more?

At the last scene, we were reunited, and we helped our parents for the new family picture. They were happily wedded once more, and Josh and I looked at each other as brother and sister. The family picture was rehearsed, too, but Josh and I decided to break one rule. We held hands even though we shouldn't, and Mrs. Mason noticed it. We thought that she was going to be mad at us, but when everything was over, Josh and I were surprised.

"I don't know what to feel towards you two - if I should be disappointed or proud. You know I am disappointed because you didn't follow what we rehearsed, and you didn't follow some parts of the script at all. But, I am very proud of you because you have starred in the best play I have ever directed. I want to congratulate you guys. I was also taken back."

She patted our shoulders and went away. Josh and I looked at each other, and we both grinned at the same time. We hurried through the empty stage, and faced the empty auditorium. We held hands and as if we were still doing the play, kissed under the mistletoe, but this time, it wasn't scripted at all. When we are done with the kissing, we realized that we weren't alone.

"All right, lovebirds!" We looked at the seats and we saw Jo. She went near us on stage, and we could only see her face.

"Come on, go ahead. Don't let me spoil your fun." She tells us with a wink.

We both laughed for a little while, and then we kissed in front of her face. When we were over, I looked at her.

"Was that enough?" I tell her jokingly.

"Oh, I never get tired of it." She tells us happily.

"You saw the whole thing?" Josh tells her.

"Oh yeah, totally did. And believe me, there was a lot of chemistry back then. You even broke some rules in the script." She gave us another wink.

Josh and I laughed, and we finally agreed to leave the auditorium together. Jo exactly knew what to do. When we were walking away from the auditorium, she kept a distance between us. We were separated when I went with my parents.
