Lani POV
I've been running for miles with the police on my tail but I lost them. We never made it to the police station. I jumped out of the door and started running. I'm a little scratched up but it's worth it.
I've run through woods and random people's houses. My legs can't take it anymore, I got these tight ass handcuffs off me.
"Fuck." I panted stopping in front of my house noticing all the cop cars parked in front. I looked around spotting a teenage girl and her boyfriend I'm assuming.
"Ayo," I whispered signaling them over my way. "Do we know you?" The girl looked me up and down as I shook my head.
"I'll give you 20 dollars each if you do me a favor ." I reached in my back pocket taking out my wallet.
"We're listening." They smiled giving me enough time to go over my plan. "Here put this on. I want you to run down the street wearing this so they think your me." Me and the girl swapped shirts.
"Then I want you to go over to the police and tell them that you saw a girl running and she tried to jack you." I slipped my 20 into the boy's hand before hiding behind a tree.
"Go." I mouthed watching them start out the plan.
The police lights were flashing down the street as they drove after the girl. I ran inside my house busting into my room.
"Lani!" Alex choked on her tears pulling me into a bear hug. "Baby we don't have that much time so just take whatever you need."
I took my duffle bag tossing it to Alex. One minute my life is lame and tiring the next minute it's like a lifetime movie.
I took out my briefcase from underneath my bed taking all my money that I "worked" hard for. We have no way of getting back home but I know Alex won't like it. Alex refuses to be in the same room with Ki but right now we don't have a choice.
"Baby, you love me right?" I hugged her waist as she nodded her head.
"I know you don't like Ki but baby she's the only way we're gonna get outta here. I have no choice but to call her." I expected fussing and fighting but Alex was fine with it.
"Whatever you gotta do." Alex grinned packing the rest of her stuff. That's why I love her, she's so mature when she needs to be.
Alex
"Laylay you're just gonna leave me like this." I crossed my arms watching Ki sweet talk my baby. "My girlfriend and I would like to leave." Lani weakly smiled before getting in the car.
"Shits crazy." I grinned shaking my head
"Nah foreal." Lani smiled throwing her arm around me. "I really gotta be in a car with shorty for 15 hours?" I looked at Ki then back at Lani.
"I have ears just to let you know." Ki spat. "I ain't ask you just to let you know," I responded shrugging my shoulders.
"Baby be nice." Lani kissed my cheek pulling on my hair. "Man you always tryna start something with me." I threw my head back as she kissed my face.
"Don't do no nasty shit in my car." "Yeah, don't try no nasty shit with me." I licked my lips wrapping my hand around Lani's neck
"Imma do whatever I want," Lani whispered in my ear licking my earlobe. "You're such a troublemaker." I smiled cupping her face and kissed her.
I slipped my tongue in her mouth as she placed her hands on my face. "Don't start nothing you can't finish." I pecked her lips pulling her into me. "We really doing this shit." She sighed laying her head on my shoulder.
"If we end up Americas most wanted imma take a shit on an America flag and leave it on Niah's front steps." I chuckled massaging the side of her head.
"Why on earth would you do that." She laughed covering her mouth.
"I don't know." I giggled.
"Ki, can I ask you something?" Lani stopped laughing and rubbed her eyes.
"Wassup."
"Why do you like me so much? I'm not all that." Lani said flipping her hair."The worst thing about me is when nobody's around me I fart for 10 minutes straight."
Man the car was dead silent. I know Lani has a disturbing side to her but I never thought she'd share it with me.
"You're disgusting." Ki and I said together before laughing. "See I said that cause I knew y'all would react like that!" She smiled pointing to the both of us.
"Okay, when I was younger I used to swallow pebbles," Ki said shaking her head.
"Y'all are sick!" I burst out laughing.
"It's your turn."
"I used to eat lotion." I wiped the tears from my eyes leaning over laughing.
"Lil dirty ass," Ki said rolling her eyes. "See I got y'all talking and laughing at each other." Lani pursed her lips moving her head down into my laps. "Y'all are gonna end up being friends." She touched under my chin closing her eyes.
"You cool beans I guess." I grinned pushing my hair back. "I guess we can be friends," Ki said stopping at the light.
I'm not saying me and Ki gonna be best friends but I'll give her a chance.
