Entry Nine-Continued
Dear Diary,
The guy at the door was Blake.
I ran down the steps and open the door. There, I see him, with his blue eyes and messy hair.
"Hi," he says.
I basically forget how to speak. "H-hi."
"Uh, can we talk?" he asks.
"Yeah," I look down. "Sure."
I let him in the house, and we walk silently to my room. When we get there, I gently close the door and turn to see him staring right at me.
"Look, if this is about the other night..." I start.
He sighs. "Gwen,"
"It was a mistake," I interrupt. "I totally understand. I'm sorry I let it happen."
"It was more than a mistake, Gwen," he states. "You know that."
I sigh, plopping down on my bed. "Then what was it, Blake?"
"I," he begins. "I don't know."
"I've known you for only a few days," I tell him. "This isn't normal."
"You don't think I know that?" he seems irritated.
"Look," I begin. "I don't know if this normal for you-to just fuck girls and move on like nothing happened. But, I don't usually sleep with guys like that."
He looks disgusted. "I don't do that. Just because I've done it before doesn't mean I do it all the time."
"Who said it looked like you did it before?" I raise my eyebrows.
He gives me a knowing look. "You think I was a virgin from that experience?"
I turn red. "Okay, it was pretty obvious you knew what you were doing. But, besides that, it doesn't change the fact that we don't know each other."
"I know," he looks at me sincerely. "But, maybe we can get to know each other."
I'm surprised. "Really? You want to get to know me?"
"Yeah," he says, like it's obvious. "Why wouldn't I?"
I scoff. "I'm pretty sure half the school has a crush on you right now. You could get someone so much more prettier than I am."
"That's not possible," he claims.
"Why not?" I look at him.
"Because you're the prettiest girl in the school," he looks into my eyes.
I blush, and bite my lip to contain whatever stupid sound could come out of my mouth. Not knowing what to say, I go with, "you're not too bad yourself."
He chuckles at that. "Thanks, I try."
"So," I twiddle my thumbs. "You want to try this...getting to know each other thing?"
He lifts my chin up with his fingers. "Totally."
I feel that fire burning again, the fire that makes me want to lean in and connect our lips together. I see him leaning in closet, or am I the one leaning in? I don't know, but I realize what I'm doing and stop.
"We're taking things slow," I back away. "Remember?"
He looks embarrassed. "Yeah...right."
I walk him back downstairs to the door. "See you tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow's Saturday," he responds.
"Shit," I mutter.
"Well, you could come to my house tomorrow. It's mostly just unpacked boxes, though."
"I'd love that," I smile.
He opens the door. "Goodnight, Gwen."
Before he turns around, I step onto my tippy toes and give him a kiss on the cheek. "Goodnight, Blake."
This is going to be interesting.
Until next time,
Gx
