Entry Twenty-Four
Dear Diary,
Surprisingly, the rumors didn't get to Blake. Not at all.
Alicia was right, though. Some of the kids act like I'm a totally abomination to society. Which is stupid, to be honest. I slept with the new kid, so what! Why is everyone acting so innocent when everyone knows they've done much worse?
"So," Kendall begins talking when we all sit down at our lunch table. "Are you two like, a thing...?"
I sigh. I can't even enjoy my lunch without someone ruining it. "I don't know."
"How can you not know?" Cara asks.
"It's complicated," Blake says. "We'd rather not talk about it."
"Gwen seemed ready to talk about it," Kendall grins wickedly. "You know, when she announced it to the whole school."
"I didn't announce it to the whole school," I defend. "I told Miranda, and it just so happened that none of you guys had nothing better to do."
Kendall shrugs. "We all smelled tension, and we love tension."
I roll my eyes. "We're just trying to figure out our feelings. That's all."
"So, it was a quick fuck?" Cara asks. "Like, just to ease the tension?"
"Will you two shut up?" Behati glares at her friends. "It's their lives. It's none of our business."
"Okay," Kendall puts her hands up in the air defensively. "Jeez, I was just curious."
Behati sighs. "Sorry, Gwen. I hope we didn't step on any nerves."
"It's fine," I give her a weak smile.
For once, I was the person in the spotlight. The school's attention was on me, and I didn't like it. I had always hoped I would be talked about because of my music or style.
Not about hooking up with a boy.
"I just don't see why it's a big deal," I tell Pharrell as we talk to class.
"It's not," Pharrell tried to assure me. "People just have nothing else to talk about in their boring lives."
"Am I the school's whore now?" I ask.
"No," he says instantly. "I don't think anyone can beat that sophomore, Kylie. Who knows where she's been."
I laugh. "But still, it just seems so stupid to me."
"I think the sane ones here know it's stupid," Pharrell comments. "Sadly, high school is dominated with idiots."
"You're telling me," I mutter.
"Gwen!" I hear Blake behind me. I turn around to see him smiling, displaying his dimples.
"Yeah?" I wait for him to catch up. Pharrell looks at me, telling me goodbye with his eyes, before walking away.
"I just wanted to make sure that you were alright," Blake claims.
I smile. "You mean, with the rumors and everything? Yeah, I guess I'm fine. Are you okay with them?"
Blake shrugs. "I don't really care about them. It's almost winter break, and apparently two freshman were caught in the teacher's bathroom this morning. A girl was giving this guy a blowjob."
"Oh my god," my face scrunches up. "That'd be so nasty to walk in on."
Blake laughs. "It'd be hilarious. And guess who they were caught by?"
"Who?" I ask.
"The principle," Blake laughs.
"Holy shit," I laugh with him. "That's so bad. They could've at least went in the janitor's closet."
"I know, right!" Blake agrees. "You're asking to be caught if you do it in the bathroom-with the door unlocked.
The conversation went on from there, and it seemed pretty normal to me. No tension, no fear. Just us.
The stares didn't even affect me.
Until next time,
Gx.Vote and comment, please! I'm just kinda writing what pops into my head first, so I hope this isn't too bad.
