Entry Eleven

Dear Diary,

I know I said we could try and be friends, but I didn't expect Blake to actually hang out with me at school.

I mean, he's friends with the popular kids. I've been going to school with Adam since kindergarten, and I'm pretty sure I've had like one conversation with him. Most kids dream about sitting at the popular table, going to their parties, even sleeping with them. Blake's a lucky guy to be able to hang out with him.

Personally, I don't see the big deal about the popular kids. Why would I want to know Behati's favorite wax spot in California? I'm pretty sure that's all they talk about. Also, why would I want to hear how many people Adam has probably had sex with? Besides that, it doesn't mean I can't acknowledge the fact that they basically have the school tied around their precious fingers. I wouldn't expect Blake to commit social suicide and sit with my group at lunch.

But, Blake seems to be full of surprises.

"Hey, Gwen," Blake sits down at our usual lunch table. My friends' wide eyes look at him and I. Their jaws drop when he smiles at them. "I'm Blake. What are y'all names?"

"Why are you sitting with us?" Alicia asks bluntly. I sigh, and hold my head in my hands.

"Alicia!" Christina hits her. "Don't be rude!"

"It's just a question," Alicia explains. "I mean, he's got a ticket to the popular table. Why in the world is he sitting with us?"

"He can sit wherever he wants," Pharrell claims, being mature like usual.

"You don't even have a seat at the popular table, Christina," Alicia states.

"Shut up," Christina says with irritation. "I do, for your information. I just choose to sit with you guys. I don't why, though."

"I'll move if this is a problem," Blake says awkwardly.

"No," I jump in, grabbing his arm. "You can sit with us. Just know this may affect if you can sit at the popular table or not."

"I don't care," Blake says. "So, you're Alicia and Christina. What's your name?" he looks st Pharrell.

"I'm Pharrell," he smiles. "Nice to meet you."

"Back at 'ya, man," Blake welcomes.

"So, Blake," Alicia begins, and I know this won't be good. "Are you friends with Gwen?"

"Yeah," he answers. "Why?"

"Oh," Alicia answers innocently. "Just wondering."

At that moment, I remember that I told her that I slept with Blake. Shit!

"Alicia, can you come with me?" I hiss, standing up from the table.

"Okay-" but, before she stands up, I hear Adam's voice behind me.

"Blake," Adam looks at him. "What are you doing?"

"What do you mean?" Blake asks.

"Why aren't you sitting with us?" Adam questions.

"Oh," Blake replies. "I want to sit with Gwen. Gwen, do you know Adam?"

"Not really," I shrug.

"Hey," Adam looks at me. "Didn't you go to South Anaheim Middle?"

"Yeah," I roll my eyes. "And I went to Orange County Elementary. We were in the same kindergarten class and third grade class."

"Oh," Adam looks guilty.

"Hey, Adam!" Christina smiles at her best friend.

"Yo, xtina!" Adam says happily, "Did Gwen really go to all the same schools we went to?"

Christina sighs. "Yes, Adam, we were all in the same kindergarten class. Also, you had like four classes with her in eighth grade."

"Okay, I guess I am pretty oblivious," Adam claims.

"Gwen," Alicia interrupts. "Are we going somewhere?"

"Oh," I remember that I need to talk to her privately. "Yeah."

"Wait," Adam chimes in. "Since Blake wants to sit with you, why don't we all just sit together?"

Alicia spits out her drink. "What?!"

"Yeah!" Christina smiles. "That'd be great!"

"Guys!" Adam yells at his table, waiving them to come over to where we were. "Come over here!"

His table gives him skeptical looks, but they eventually walk over with their food. "Why are we over here?" asks Kendall.

"We're going to sit with my new friends," Adam says. "Guys, meet Gwen, Alicia, and Pharrell."

"Hi," says Behati. She seems pretty friendly, taking a seat next to me instantly. "Aren't you in my forensic class?"

"Yeah," I answer. "Did you go to South Anaheim?"

"No," Behati frowns. "I was at Anaheim East. I went to Hills Elementary, so I didn't really meet all of you guys until high school. Anaheim East is really small compared to Anaheim South." Behati looks up at her friends, who I secretly call the Barbie dolls. "Aren't you guys going to sit down?"

"Oh, yeah," Cara mutters. "I'm Cara."

"And I'm Kendall," she stares at us.

"Well, this has been fun, but I got to go," Alicia stands up before Shawn can introduce himself, even though we all already know who he is. "Gwen, you coming?"

"Yeah," I stand up again. "See you guys later."

Alicia pretty much roasts me once we're out of earshot, but I'll save that for tomorrow's entry.

Until next time,
Gx
