"M. Bloom is ready to be seen. Just be careful with him. He just had a surgery that might have killed him and let that bullet inside him, but thankfully he was strong and he got through it.""Kill him?"
"Yeah, if the surgery wasn't a success, M. Bloom could've lived with a bullet for the rest of his life but his death would be closer than he could ever imagine."
"Oh no..."
"But don't worry now. He's perfectly fine."
"Is he up?" I asked, feeling my heart going back to its regular tension
"He hasn't woken up yet but I don't think he will take long enough to do so."
I nodded and made my way towards his room. I was alone in the hospital. I ran away from home but I called my parents to let them know what happened. They should normally be on their way to the hospital.
I opened the door slowly, knowing Orlando was sleeping and walked towards him, sitting on of the chairs next to his hospital bed.
He looked absolutely lifeless. Tubs were all over and around him. His skin was pale and he was shirtless which revealed his bruised skin. He's been shot in the head, I'm proud of how strong he is. Thank god he survived. I wouldn't neither live nor last longer if that wasn't the case. He completed me and my life without him was absolutely a whole mess.
I felt like crying right now but I had to stay strong for him, for myself; though I had cried for more than two hours today. My eyes were dry and red. The sun just started to come out outside.
I held Orlando's hand in mine until he slowly started opening his eyes which made me smile. I was so happy to see him alive. It was a miracle. He remained silent for a few seconds, examining the room with his tired eyes until his eyes met mine and his look was on mine.
Curiously, I felt too depressed to even cry now, too hurt. It felt as if he'd taken the part of me that cried.
He kept looking at me without saying a word just like he's never seen me before. It scared me a bit since he's been shot in the head and he could easily get brain damage but since the doctor hasn't said anything about it, I shouldn't worry, right?
"You're okay baby?"
"Um yeah I'm alright but can I ask you something that might be out of the line?"
"Yeah sure..." I placed my big, soft hands on my laps waiting for Orlando to speak
"Who are you?" And my smile immediately faded away just a bit. It just hit me; brain damage. I couldn't believe this is happening. The prodigy could read but I couldn't see
"Excuse me?"
"I'm sorry if I made you angry or something but I can't figure out who you are.."
"I'm Katy, your girlfriend. Can't you remember? Come on. I've been your girlfriend twice now. Who can you remember?"
"I can only remember my mom, my dad who passed away, my sisters, my son, what I do for living and probably my ex-wife, Miranda I guess."
Ex-wife...
"Why is this always happening?" I complained while I hided my head in my hands
"My bad. It's crazy but I only remember being in love with a singer once and that's it."
Once...
"That singer is me.. and we have been in love twice. We first dated from 2016 to 2017 and then we broke up because we couldn't work things out because of our jobs and we got back together this year."
