Today's the day, I go outside! I have all of my stuff packed and my route planned out. Now all I have to do is get past Tom. I put my bag on my back and then hid it under my hair so Tom couldn't see it. Try to be as unsuspicious as possible I walked over to Tom.
"Hey, Tom."
"Oh hi Star!)
"I'm just coming into check on you before I go take a nap."
"Didn't you just wake up about a couple hours ago?" Tom asked.
Oh no! I never really thought about that. Why would anyone just take a nap after just waking up. I had to think of something quickly.
"I didn't sleep last night. I couldn't stop worrying about the monster." That just came out of my mouth without thinking.
"Star you should have told me. I would've stayed up with you till you felt better."
"I didn't want to wake you." This is just going to make Tom worry about me even more.
"Don't, next time wake me up instead."
"Okay, but I going to sleep."
"Sweet dreams!"
"Thanks, Tom."
I had everything sent up in my room already to make it look like I was sleeping in my bed. Also, the door was locked with a cute 'Do not disturb' sign hanging from the handle. Instead of going to my room, I went straight for the door. If I go quickly Tom won't see me. I rushed over and silently left through the door. I can't believe it, I'm outside!
