As I got up and started to walk forward Damien followed. "I'm kind of glad that I came down here, even though I didn't get to see Star." I said with a smirk.

"Why's that?" Damien asked.

"I just feel like a whole new person now. Almost as if I'm stronger, but it's not like I have abs or anything. I don't know it's confusing."

"I get what you're saying."

"You do?" How could Damien know what I'm saying, I mean I barely know.

"You did get stronger, mentally."

"What?"

"Marco the first time I meet you, you were wandering the streets like a lost dog. Also, you were a total wreak. One minute you're crying over Star and the next you're giving everything up for her. You never thought about anything before you did it and often acted like a little kid."

"Hey! I never acted like a little kid!"

"Yeah you did, but now you're more mature."

"Thanks, I guess."

"No problem Marco."

There was a long quiet pause as we kept on walking. Even though there was supposed to be an awful monster roaming the streets, everything felt peaceful. For the first time in a long time, I had no worries. My mind finally seemed to settle.

"Hey, Marco?"

"Yeah, Damien?"

"I have something I need to tell you. I wanted to tell you..."

There was a scream in the distance. "That sounded like Star." I said as worry began to flow back through me.

"It sounded like it came from Tom's house."

"Damien, we have to go back! What if she's hurt?"

"What happened to the whole 'you moved on' thing?"

"Damien, she could be in danger we have to." I started to run back to Tom's house with Damien following close behind me. I swear if Tom hurt her in any way, he's a dead man. My adrenaline kicked in and I was able to run even faster. It was almost as I wasn't controlling my own feet.

Soon we arrived at Tom's. I didn't even wait, I just ran right inside. I went over to where Star and Tom were before. Tom was still there, but Star wasn't. How could he not hear her scream? I went over to Tom to yell at him for leaving her alone. As I stormed up to him, I realized something was wrong.

"Damien...why isn't Tom moving?"

Damien walked up to Tom and felt his heart. Then Damien looked at his eyes. "He's still alive, but he seems to be paralyzed."

"Who did this?"

"I don't know, but whoever it is seems very dangerous."

"We have to find Star now!"
