"So what are you going to do now?" Damien asked.

"I don't know...Everything I used to do revolved around Star, now I just feel empty." I said as I blankly stared off at nothing. Even though I wasn't looking at him I could tell Damien was looking at me. I knew he wanted a real response, but I didn't have one. "You know you don't have to stay with me anymore. We found Star, the whole 'journey' thing is over. I'll send you the 500 gold pieces or whatever once I get back home."

"You really think I care about anymore. At first, I thought you were just another stupid boy chasing after every girl you see, but now I know you're much more."

"Wait really I don't have to pay you?" I asked

"No." Even though I couldn't see Damien's face when he said this I knew he had a small smile.

"Thank God! I didn't know how I was going to get that many gold pieces anyway." When I said this Damien began to laugh. "Hey what's so funny?"

"There's no such thing as gold pieces. I just said that to see what your response would say about you."

"Well, what did it mean?" I asked

"It showed me that you really care about this girl. You were willing to give up everything for her."

"Wow, I didn't know you could leaner that much from someone just by a few sentences. I guess I am a really good person after all."

"Don't start to talk yourself up. Not only did it show me you cared about her, it also showed me you're stupid."

"What?"

"The fact that you thought gold pieces were real and that you do things before even thinking."

"I'll have you know I'm very responsible. I have the best grades in my class and I'm good at making decisions."

"Not when it comes to her. You don't even think, you'll just start to chase after her. It's like she messed up your head or something."

I guess Star did kind of mess up my head, at least not in a bad way.
