Kapitel Zehn

Chapter 10...

My eyes widen after the loud horrific sound and Doss picked up his gun and clicked the safety on. "That's one of them".

"Thanks for stating the obvious Doss", I said with sarcasm evident in every word. I pull out my gun and take cover behind one of the shelves.

"If we're still it won't be able to smell us", Doss warned us and it roared again, this one was hell of a lot louder meaning it was hell of a lot closer. Shit!

Allison stayed beside me and Kelly stayed opposite me, I was able to see through the shelf Kelly was leaning, the Antercid started sniffing the air, it walked into the store and continued sniffing the air, I saw Doss two shelves away beside Kaden and he held his index finger to his lips.

I rolled my eyes and gave him a duhh face and he frowned at me. I kept looking at it through the tiny hole through the shelf and it grunted, then turned around, during the process it knocked one of the shelves down and it landed right on Jade, she yelled in pain.

Then it's head snapped towards Jade and its eyes immediately changed to red, then it picked up the shelf easily and through it across the room then roared at her. She was now exposed to him and started shuffling backwards until her back pressed against the wall. I stood up and put the barrel of my M16 on the 5th partitioning board of the shelf and opened fire, the bullets bounced off its hard skin, and it walked briskly towards me.

"Everyone get out of here!", I yelled. They all ran out of their hiding positions, it turned towards Kelly and Allison where running out, then I continued firing and it turned back to me.

I saw the swift movement of his right hand and I try to roll out of the way but in a split second I find myself flying through shelves. I struggle to get up, then it continued walking towards me, each step equivalent to 5 steps of a normal person.

My body ached every where as it closed in on me. It stood up in front of me and roared in my face, spit and everything else disgusting flying out of his mouth and about 60% ended up on my face.

I was able to stand up but I staggered, it held my shirt and threw me back across the room and I hit my back on the exit door frame and landed upside down meaning my head smacked hard against the floor. It rushed towards me and a smoke grenade bounced over my body and just before it got to me the grenade started releasing smoke and a thick fog separated me from it. My entire body was aching me, my head felt like the gods where forging a new weapon inside it.

Then I felt arms lift me up and I look up at the person, my vision was clouded so I couldn't see the person, it was either Robyn or Kaden because Doss wouldn't be carrying me with a severely injured leg.

Then I began to drift off, I heard a blurred version of Allison's voice, I couldn't make out what she was saying but I saw her figure walking besides whoever was carrying me, it was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

My eyes drift open and I turn my head to look around in vain because now I have a horrible headache, then a migraine, then a normal headache, then a migraine. I decided to fuck it and turned my head to look at the face of the owner of the legs besides me.

I look into Allison's brown eyes as they look back into mine, she didn't say a word as she looked continued to look at me. "Hey Alli", I finally break the silence.

She didn't reply and I used the opportunity to look at my surroundings, we where in a hospital room, no power and it was dark out, there where no beautiful lights that we're giving us the Vegas feel, just plain emptiness. We where in one of those rooms with the glass walls that looks out over Vegas, correct that, post-apocalyptic Vegas.
