Kapitel Dreizehn

Chapter 13...

"At least he didn't get turned", Jade jumped in.

"Well...", Kaden started, "is it just me or does anyone else think this is cum?"

"What?", Jade looked at him helplessly, "you know what, shoot me right now", she threw her arms up in the air.

I smiled at Jades reaction to Kadens stupidity. I start walking towards where I think is the direction of Miami.

"Where are you going?", Allison asks, stopping me in my tracks.

"Miami", I said successfully making everyone not talk about my sudden mood change.

"Miami's that way", Robyn pointed in the opposite direction from where I was walking.

"Umm... I knew that", I state, "Miami's that way of course"

"Yeah sure you did", he said sarcastically.

"Do you doubt that I know the way to Miami?", I mock threaten him.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do", he smirked, "because Miami is actually that way", he pointed in the way I was going.

I narrowed my eyes on him trying to see whether or not he is lying, but to no avail. "Fuck you".

"Ma boy here is gonna take you up on that offer, ain't you Robyn?", Kaden chirped.

Robyn gave him a flat look. Then I flicked his forehead, "show us the way Mr. Geography".

Then he slung his shotgun over his shoulder and started walking in the direction he initially said was the right way. "Bloody wanker", I murmured and Kelly giggled being the only one that hearted me.

We had already walked for thirty minutes under the cool morning breeze, we had only gone about a three-quarter mile from where we started but at least, it's something. We stopped and checked most of the cars that still looked in good condition, most of them had no gas in them, the rest had some stupid technical problems that none of us could fix.

We stopped for a break inside a casino, we checked the ground floor for any other humans but none where found.

We stayed there for a couple minutes before we decided to start going. But something caught my attention and I turned back to look at it. "Guys?", I called to them and they all turned around and because no one said anything I'm guessing they can see what I'm seeing as well.

I hold my M16 and wait patiently for the elevator number to finish its countdown. Yup, the elevator just started coming down and no one here pressed the button, so there has got to be a human being in there.

We all take cover behind something waiting for the elevator to reach our floor. 21. 20. 19. 18...

10. 9. 8. 7...

The elevator doors slid open and there was no one in it, I stayed stil, for a couple more seconds, the door tried to close but it went back open so it means someone is hacking it or someone is in there keeping it open and I'll go with the latter because the chances of hacking in this apocalypse era are really slim.

I slowly removed a grenade from my belt and pulled the ring out with my teeth and threw it in, it bounced a few times before going in and as if on cue, the person in there ran out and the grenade blew up, the force was able to push him to the floor and Kaden quickly rushed to pin him.
