Your laugh is like a song
But darling I always get
The lyrics wrong
And now laughter
seems scornIts distracting
And I keep saying
The lyrics until
Its nothing like it was before
And now its a new melody
I keep chanting it
Like its my mantra
I keep repeating
Like its a prayer
I keep mumbling it
Like its a hymn
But now youre the faded dream
And the omnipresent nightmare
Of hollow laughs
And
Battle scarsAnd wailing is heard
More
Than music
In these
Deserts of the broken hearts
