FOREWORD

[This foreword may be temporary.]
The Coño Boy was originally intended to be a 5 or 6 part story for this little known page on Facebook called Pinoy GayLove Diaries. The first part of the story was published on the 20th of August 2016. I kind of got busy and neglected it for some time. It was not until mid to late May this year when I decided to expand the story on a dare from one of my dearest friends. I told myself to at least write 35 chapters in total. But 5 became 14, and 14 became 20, and 20 became 38, and by the 21st of October 2017 there are a total of 75 regular chapters and 9 special chapters divided into two books— so I decided to finally write a temporary foreword. As I write this, I am still astonished as to how it has taken a life all its own with currently 45.6K reads... Not bad for a dare, right?

The dare was: Kaya nga ba ng isang kuwento sa Wattpad na ipakita sa mga readers yung very truth and nature of love? Sounds like the challenge ng character ni Queen Elizabeth I played by Dame Judi Dench in the film Shakespeare In Love, di ba? Pero the question is quite valid and I felt it to be so relevant.

So, I decided to combine three of my most favorite things: a gay love story [they all call it BL these days], the theater [you guys will understand why later], and people of certain social circumstances —how real rich people behave at hindi yung akala or ina-assume na lang ni kung sino how they respond— which makes for a horrible afternoon soap opera kung saan nagha-hagisan sila sa lamesa and point water guns at each other.

Let me warn you though, some of the characters in this story are based on actual people. And certainly there will be some people from a certain social circle that may find some names, places, histories, and situations very familiar to them. Baka nga mamaya, I won't get invited to certain parties anymore if some of them realize that bits of their stories also got told here by me.

But I won't spoil anything for you here. I do hope you will feel so invested and hopefully fall in love with the characters as much as I have been in bringing them to life with words.

[This humble piece of work is written from the first person point of view —that often shifts depending on the chapter type— in what I consider a haphazard script format with most of the dialogues assigned as lines rather than enclosed in quotation marks with a lot of what in the theater is called an *aside* enclosed thus.]
