Chapter 36

Shortly after Jia had pressed the red button, a confused nurse entered the room, companied by two police officers. Jongdae, who had tried to run away was held by Jia and Liling, who now told the police everything.

"He is healthy and should be brought home. Please make sure he won't run away.", Jia nervously mumbled. She ignored Jongdae's begging eyes and loosened the grip around Jongdae's hand.

"Please do me one last favor."

Her eyes glittered from the tears. But it had to be this way. He desperately answered: "I can't."

But it was too late... The police men already pulled the man by his hands and after a short time they had him under control and he stopped punching them. "You don't understand that."

Jia shook her head and nodded towards the door, trying not to look at the man she just kissed.

She just hoped, he didn't get infected. How could she forget about her illness? Did she really think a kiss would convince Jongdae to leave?

The opposite.

Jia knew, that Jongdae would try to escape. Maybe it was impossimble now, but when the officer wouldn't look at him for once....

"Please take care of him, he will try to escape sooner or later...", the woman repeated and the officers nodded.

"She is pregnant! I can't leave her now!", Jongdae suddenly yelled at them and again tried to free himself which was nearly impossible due to his exhaustion. The officers would make a good job.

"I don't know this man.", Jia shouted towards the officers. "Please bring him home, he has no right to stay here."

The look in Jongdae's eyes was indescribable.

"We promise to bring him back home safely.", an officer stated a bit annoyed and crossed Jongdae's hands at his back so he wouldn't move anymore.

"Are there any other people that need to be evacuated?"

As if he had heard that, Baekhyun entered the room and had all eyes on him. Liling pointed towards him and smiled weakly at his appearance.

Baekhyun nodded willingly, he was one of the people who even made this evacuation possible.

"Jongdae, you should accept this.", he tried to calm the wild man down.

"What will happen to the infected people? What will happen to my family?"

"They will stay here until the medicine arrives.."

"That's murder!"

"That's the only way."

"There has to be another way!"

Baekhyun turned away from Jongdae, whose mind he couldn't change anyways and watched Liling and Jia sitting next to Bo's bed and looking up at the arguing men.

"Bo is sleeping.", Liling whispered and brushed throught the small childs hair. Baekhyun quietly walked over to them and hugged both of them lovingly.

"I'm sorry it has to be this way.", he admitted with sorrow in his eyes.

Liling calmed him down by patting his shoulder. "It's the only way, like you said."

"Thankyou for everything Baekhyun.", Jia weakly smiled and stared at the man she admired so much for the last time.

Jongdae also wanted to say something, but the officers were already dragging him out of the room.

The last words Jia heard were "I won't leave you." , and as Baekhyun closed the door behind him, the sound of his voice vanished in Jia's ears.

"I know you wouldn't leave me...", she whispered to herself. He used to be a true friend.

But there was no time to miss Baekhyun and Jongdae, because Liling and Jia soon had another thing in mind.

Bo's condition was getting worse.
