The bed was cold when Jia woke up and worriedly glanced at the child in her arms. His tossled hair still looked the same like the the day before, his clothes still smelled the same. With stinging pain in her heart Jia brushed over the childs arms and shivered under the coldness of his skin. Within seconds Jia swung her eyes open and sat up, putting Bo's arms on her lap.

He was sleeping so peacefully.
So quiet.
Not even a little breath would escape his closed lips.

"Wake up, Bo.", Jia whispered in despair and put her fewerish warm hands onto his pale cheeks.

"The sun is shining, Bo."

Bo remained quiet and kept his eyes closed.

"The sky is bright today."

His face expresion looked so innocent and pure, as if he would feel the bright weather in his heart.

"You would love this sight, you always loved it."

As Bo still didn't answer Jia took him by his shoulder and shook him carefully.

"Bo it's time to get up."

Silence

"Bo!"

Nothing

"Wake up!"

Nothing but silence. Not even a heartbeat.

Jia knew exactly what had happened but she couldn't accept itin any way. She tried everything she could, calling him, reanimating, praying.

Nothing.

No answer from Bo or from his heart.
No answer from god.

She was all alone.

Desperately she screamed at the window from where the sunrays shone on them.

"Why would you shine on a day like this?!?"

Tears floated down her cheeks in waterfalls, she felt so dry on the inside.

So empty.

So alone.

"Don't leave me Bo.", she whispered into his ear and her tears dropped onto his face.

He would just shone with quietness and peace at her like before as if he wanted to say: "I'm here."

"I said I wouldn't leave you...", Jia cried out and hugged him tightly.

"I promised you."

The pain the illness caused to her body suddenly didn't feel bad anymore, Jia enjoyed the stinging pain that made breathing so hard for her.

"Jia! Bo!"

A shouting woman interrupted the painful silence and grief. The mother of the lifeless boy swallowed her own cry when she spotted the child in Jias arms, who barely couldn't hold him anymore.
