Nightmare looks like a more shadowy version of Absalom from Darksiders 2, as well as having his voice. He has a history with Kurse, and a deep seated grudge against him. He's also responsible for what happened to Chara. Nightmare has a spell called Possession, which does exactly what the name implies. He is also Kurse's cousin and blames him for reasons that will reveal themselves later in the story.
