Clancy woke up with his leg and shoulder completely immobilised, with a concerned... person looking at him. He couldn't make them out, he felt like he would never see properly again.

"Feeling any better Clance?" asked the person. He could smell the distinct aroma of bubblegum. Yep, who else could it be other than Ruby Redfort?

If this was a movie, he would be in a comfy hospital bed with a hot water bottle and a bunch of "Get Well Soon!" balloons tied to his bed, but all he could feel was thick sloshy mud underneath him with the odd patch of grass.

It was disgusting, but for some reason he couldn't get up and run to the shower. What had happened? Oh yes. Ruby had got him into trouble with LB who probably wanted him dead for discovering Spectrum, and got some evil guy to do her dirty work and shove him out of the plane? Did this mean his memory was going to be wiped? How was he supposed to anything for the next few months?

"Oh Clancy, always fearing the worst," said Ruby, like she could read his mind. He groggily blinked a couple of times and felt his vision become a little clearer. "Yeah, there was mud in your eyes," she cheerily told him.

Okay, Clancy thought. Now it was getting a little creepy. "You got a mind reading device or something, Rube?" he muttered faintly.
"Actually, yes. I've just swiped it off Agent Wetherall's belt to see how you're feeling, and you can also thank me for stitching you up, bozo," she grinned. Clancy let out a small sigh of relief and slightly smiled back in way of thanks at Ruby.

"Um, I have to tell you something. I don't know if I should when you're not feeling well, but then you'll get one of your hunches and find out the wrong way. Plus, we only have five, six minutes before you're taken to the Spectrum medical facility for injured agents. Please just keep your cool, OK?" Ruby said softly.

Clancy's eyes widened in slight confusion, but slowly moved his head, allowing her to continue. "Well, it's like this, you know there are different divisions, and loads of agen-" but before Ruby could finish, a little figure had come rushing towards Clancy, clutching a ragged doll that he knew was called Buttercup.

She was a petite person Clancy knew very, VERY well, so why did she have a fly barrette in her hair?!

Clancy exclaimed,

"OLIVE?"
