Ezra

During the ride back to his house, Ezra's mind was flooded with mixed feelings of regret and frustration. He was starting to get over Mia's death but everything fell apart again, he couldn't help let his emotions take over.

As soon as he reached home, he quickly got off his bike, opened the front door and headed straight to his room. He slammed the door shut and sank to the floor while panicking. Memories that he shared with Mia started flooded through his mind.

"She didn't just leave me....she died." Ezra clenched his teeth.

The immense feeling of pain surrounded his heart. Mia's death was always going to haunt him but he didn't need someone like Cain to remind him of that pain. More than anything Ezra was pissed not only at Cain but more towards himself.

There was a feeling deep down in his heart that kept bothering him.

He was taught that it was a natural process especially for a god to seek a mate. Only a few seconds of Cain's contact made his pupils dilate, his skin crawl and heart run a thousand beats per second.

Since it was Ezra's first time meeting an alpha he felt embarrassed from the way his heart ached for Cain within that short amount of time. He knew that it was just his wolf acting on instinct but he refused to let it take over his heart. He had always thought that he would only love Mia, that he would spend his entire life with her. But even Damon told him to face reality.

A werewolf god can not be with a human, or at least have a safe and peaceful relationship. He needed an alpha and a pack to help his wolf to reach its full potential.

"Stop." He felt his body betraying him, he didn't need an alpha mate in his life he was perfectly fine without one.

Ezra held his head in his hands attempting to calm his erratic heart. He touched his collar and adjusted it slightly. Did he notice the charm? Why does he always show up in front of me? He took his phone out of his pocket and scanned through his contacts. He considered calling Laura or Damon to explain the situation but when he stumbled across the name Mia, his brows crossed and heart sank.

"Fuck."

That night a small storm began to brew, there was light showers but strong winds. The earth could sense the feeling of guilt and reacted.

The clock neared to 6:30 and a car pulled over at the front of Ezra's house. Ezra had gotten out of his demise an hour earlier and got changed for work. Shay came to pick him up and take him to work at the bar/cafe 'Blue Whistler'.

Shay was a singer for a jazz band and for someone with her type of personality it was odd to see her has a jazz singer, but she certainly had a good voice and was mainly doing it for the money and free booze. Ezra on the other hand worked behind the bar and served food and drinks, but every now and then he would practise his guitar skills on stage when the crowd was quiet.

He made his way into Shay's car and she smiled at him as he got in.

"What's with the long face?" Shay noticed Ezra's darkened expression.

"Don't worry about it. Just in a bad mood."

"Well you better have a cheerful face for customers tonight."

They arrived at the bar and greeted their manager as they walked in.

The place was known as the best hang out place for teens since it was open to under 18 year olds and Blue Whistler let anyone freely use the stage as long as they talked with the manager. There were already customers and audiences enjoying themselves, and Ezra headed behind the bar. He gave a fist pump to his co workers before wrapping a long black apron around his waist.
