A Cursed Promise

Hey guys its been a long time! I've been super busy with life and i've been going through some hard times in the last couple of months due to covid, mental health issues and just every day things and barely made enough time and sort of lost motivation to update the story. But I will definitely finish writing this story as I have a sequel planned out which I am keen to write, please just bare with me for being so slow to update. 

Ezra

Ezra found himself laid out on the ground. 

Above him stood Damon and Marcus who looked down in concern. He was stuck in a dazed state for a few seconds not knowing what was happening before he forced himself back into reality. 

As he sat up, a sharp pain to his head made him groan out and grip his head. Damon placed an arm around him to comfort him. 

"Are you okay?" Damon asked. 

"I think so...Just got a headache."

Ezra let out deep breathes and pulled himself together. Damon helped him up off the ground and kept his grip on Ezra to keep him stable. When Ezra finally looked up, he noticed large groups of tough looking people standing around guarding the area. He had recognised some of them from the pack house, including Benno and Sienna. 

"What happened?" Ezra asked softly.

"That's what we wanted to ask you." Marcus replied. 

Ezra frowned, the sharp pain still ringing in his brain. "I don't know..." 

Damon moved to face Ezra. "We found you passed out here on the field." 

"Passed out?" 

"Yea. You called Benno and said that you were in trouble-" 

"I-I did?" 

Marcus and Damon looked at each other. "Yes. You did. You said that you that you needed help." 

Ezra had never felt so confused in his life. "I...don't remember...." 

"What?"

"...I literally can't remember anything. I don't even remember how I got here. Why can't I remember?" 

Damon looked back at Marcus. "What's going on here?" 

Marcus touched Ezra's shoulder. "Can you tell me what is the last thing you remember?" 

"I, uh did my exam, I went to the library with Cain and that's it." 

"Was Cain with you when you were in the library?" 

"Yea, we were together." 

"Then you don't remember telling Benno that you couldn't find Cain?" 

Ezra's eyes widened. "No...Cain is missing?" 

"Apparently, but you were the one who said so. Can you try to remember the last time you saw Cain or do you think you maybe saw Odis?"

Damon interjected. "If Odis was here, why would he take Cain and not Ezra?"

"And that is what we'll figure out. My son is missing. I only hope that he's just run off somewhere and not taken for slaughter." 

Ezra tried to grasp the situation even though he couldn't remember anything that had happened in the last couple of minutes, he felt like he had forgotten something really important. Every time he played back the scenes of him and Cain in the library, everything just went black to the moment they walked out of the building.
