Chapter 4

Ezra

The clock struck 11 and Ezra had been studying for almost 3 hours. He was annoyed that he couldn't train with Damon with all the wolves around, so he was now stuck at home trying to keep his mind busy.

His stomach rumbled reminding him that he hadn't eaten dinner yet. He first checked his phone and saw a message from Laura telling him that she was going to be late. So he got up and headed for the living room. He sat down on the couch, as he scanned through his phone.

He paused on the contact number for the neighbouring pizza place. Even if Ezra was known to be perfect at everything he did, cooking was something that he had no confidence in. He just found it complicated and it never turned out right when he attempted to cook. As he was about to click onto the number his phone suddenly rang. He sighed and slid the screen to answer the phone.

"What do you want?"

"Have you eaten?" Tyler asked on the other side of the phone.

"I was was ordering pizza before you interrupted."

"Can I come over?!"

"No."

"Are you still mad at me for hitting you in the eyes? I said I was sorry."

"I'm not mad, I'm just busy studying. Why do you even want to come over?" Ezra asked even though he knew exactly why Tyler asked.

"Mum is forcing us to eat some disgusting food again, she thinks is good for us!"

"What is it tonight?"

"Goats brain..."

Ezra snorted. It was very common for Mary to be cooking odd food for her family. It was no stereotype that witches often brewed unusual concoctions. Once Mary tried to feed Ezra fried snake heads, which was apparently nutritious for him.

"Gross, alright."

"I love you." Tyler immediately hung up and Ezra ordered his usual order of pepperoni and cheese pizzas. It was only 10 min later that Ezra's doorbell rung. He answered and Tyler smiled cheerily.

"What? Were you already waiting in front of my house?"

"I just needed to get the hell out of there."

A few moments later, the pizza arrived. The two boys sat around the kitchen island on stools as they ate.

"Oh I learnt a new spell! Wanna see?"

"All your spells have always been for something useless."

"You're a piece of shit, you know that."

"How is turning a rock into a frog useful?"

"Well...it would make a funny prank."

"I would love to see that one day."

"Just watch, asshole."

Tyler put down his slice of pizza then looked at the glass of soda nearby and lifted his hand above the glass. He mumbled a few unknown words before a small sound of crackling could be heard. The glass and soda inside froze completely.

"See! Aren't I amazing!"

"Wow, you can make ice pops."

Tyler frowned and flipped him off.

Ezra smirked before letting his eyes glow to a shade of icy blue. He simply tapped his foot on the ground causing a loud crackling sound to surround the two boys. The temperature in the room decreased significantly and ice particles covered themselves around all furniture and objects around the room. The room literally froze to ice.
