When we annotate,
We decide the importance of specific things like the date
Even if we read between the fine lines
We somehow miss the fine print
And so we continue to make certain opinions, ideas and words to stand out
He did just that
Pointing out the small details in the big picture
He accentuated the ideas that were being expressed
He emphasized the need of expression
He simply did just that
And those simple things led to even bigger things
He brought me out
Lighting up the depth of me
He gave me aspirations
The things I pay attention to first in the jumble of words life preaches
He was one of this highlighters
That one that lasted and was always there
But now he's not
And that's a sadness I have to bear
