Let's talk about it

A/N: now you can officially say you've had a love poem written about you...

I can stare at a blank page for hours

Trying to think of how I can put how I feel

into words so that maybe you'll understand

How much of a crush I have

So let's talk about this crush

It's not a love poem without cliches

So let's start with the butterflies in my stomach

When I see you in class

And how I'll always laugh the loudest at your jokes

Let's talk about how I gush about you

And my friends are so sick of hearing

How perfect I think you are

And how I'd defend you against anyone

Let's talk about how I've vandalized half my friends' notebooks

And they're littered with hearts and initials in the margins

And about how I blush whenever someone bring you up

And my eyes light up because I get an excuse to mention you

Let's talk about how you're the only person

Who hasn't made fun of me for having a crush on them

And who, however slim it is

I may potentially have a chance with one day

Let's talk about how you just don't give a fuck

You don't try to fit in with anybody, you're just you

As opposed to me who still hasn't succeeded to fit in

After three years of trying

Let's talk about how smart you are

You just have random facts swarming your mind

And you can write the most amazing stories

And I look forward to everything you say and write

Let's talk about how you're an unconventional type of pretty

Not the type I'd see in magazines

Yet somehow so much better

And I don't know how that's possible

Let's talk about jealousy

When I know that you like someone else

And I'm just the petty girl with a crush

Who you'll never like back

Let's talk about everything

You're so pretty and smart

And every part of you just clicks

And I'm still finding out why I like you so much

Let's talk about the fact that I just bared my heart

All because you wanted a poem

But I'll risk the embarrassment

Because it's for you

Let's talk about the fact that twelve stanzas later

I still don't think I've described

How hooked I am on you

But at least I've tried
