Pressing questions

I have a pressing question

A few actually

Begging to escape my lips

Waiting to be released into the air

How do I ask?

I can't be too abrupt

I'll start like this--

I've heard the rumors

We know the same people

I know what you say

We have the same friends

And everyone's talking

Surely you've noticed

Are the whispers and glances not obvious?

Is it just me

hearing her name passed through so many mouths in the hall?

Strangers are congratulating me

On the date to formal I don't have

Acquaintances are throwing out ideas

On the best way to ask you to dance

People I hardly speak to are suddenly my best friend

Telling people they know me and my love life

Better than I do myself

What about you?

Are you getting throngs of fascinated girls

Asking you to list every gay person in the school

Or am I the only one who suddenly has magic gaydar

So now I have a fan club

Who wants to know every detail of my nonexistent love life

And gush about how cute my crush is

And how they've seen our flirty posts

I'm beating around the bush again

Here's the thing, darling-

I've had girls mess with my emotions before

And I won't have it happen again

Are the feelings really mutual?

You keep saying they are

But do words mean anything without actions to follow?

You've said you like to tease me

That hard to get is the way you want this to play out

Remember, we have the same friends

Loose lips are always ready to spill the beans

Let's be frank-

I don't mind a chase

But every game needs to end

It gets boring if it's played to death

I'm not a quitter

But if there's no end in sight

I'll be clear-

I'll end the game myself

~A/N: I had absolutely no idea what to title this... This poem's been on the tip of my tongue for a few days now, I just never know how to word it... I guess this works.~
