Nearly every person is an exact carbon copy
Do you not get bored acting and looking the same?
Is it not annoying to have to dumb yourself down so much?
Doesn't your mouth hurt from having a permanent frown on your face?
I suppose you get used to it
We're born into this life told to be ourselves
And every minute after that is spent telling us how to do that
There is no 'proper way' to be yourself- there's no guide book
Was there a manual I missed?
Out of a school of hundreds
I can pick out maybe five that are unique
I guessed we missed the memo
Is intelligence not a good quality anymore?
I'm sorry- I guess I'll stop raising my hand in class
Is enjoying writing a crime?
Arrest me now
I didn't realize that there was a dress code:
Short crop tops and booty shorts every day
Excuse me
But I'm just a little more comfortable in my sweats
Is straight long hair the only acceptable style?
I didn't realize that someone cropping their hair short
Was an acceptable reason for you to make gestures
And label her as gay
But whatever memo I missed
Whatever special assembly there was telling us how to act
I'n glad I didn't listen
Go ahead and copy the girl next to you who copied the girl next to her
I'll just sit back and watch all the Abercrombie bitches from afar
Because I refuse to be another carbon copy
