I'm celebrating my birthday this week my parents can't make it here to celebrate but my brother is coming for a visit and we're gonna celebrate together with some friends. Scott unfortunately can't make it as he has other commitments but he's promised to send me a present. I'm filming all week so I won't be able to properly celebrate until the weekend so my friends won't be coming until Friday. I also have another movie coming out next week so I have some press to do here and in New York for a day or two. It's insane how busy my schedules been and it's been getting to me slightly as I also tend to get very stressed out when I feel overwhelmed which gives me anxiety and can cause me to have panic attacks. I've been managing it with help from my therapist who I speak to weekly and Scott has been great too. Friday night I have a dinner with the cast and crew from the show which my brother comes to and the real celebration is tomorrow which is my actual birthday.
It's officially my birthday and my friends are here now and we are having a chilled morning at my place. We are now having some drinks before we head out to dinner. The doorbell rings as I'm opening presents "Jack go get that please" I say and he heads to the door while I keep opening presents "It's for you" he says and I look up and see Scott "Surprise" he says and I get up "I thought you couldn't make it" I say "I couldn't miss your birthday I have to fly back tomorrow but at least I didn't miss your official birthday" he says and we kiss. We head out to dinner and Scott gets to know my friends and my brother and everyone is having a good time. My brother decides to give a speech "Violet and I never saw eye to eye when we were younger like most siblings do but we've always supported each other's dreams she let me live with her when I first moved to London and she's been the band's biggest fan since day one. We always celebrate birthdays together as a family but recently that's been harder to do because she's been so busy but she always manages to find a way whether it's just a Skype or facetime from set. I'm incredibly proud of everything she's achieved and how strong she's been when people try to knock her down I couldn't be a prouder brother so cheers to Violet" he says and everyone cheers and Scott gets up "I've probably known Violet the shortest amount of time but she's exactly what I needed. When we met I saw beyond the beautiful girl with the sexy accent I saw someone who is vibrant and so full of life and knowing what she's been through she's also one of the strongest people I know and I couldn't be happier to be apart of her life and her mine and I hope we can continue to help each other grow and become better people to Violet" he says. We spend Sunday recovering from the night before even though I didn't drink that much but everyone else is pretty hungover and I bring Scott back to the airport in the afternoon.

I am in New York for the day I flew in late last night and I am currently getting ready for my Live with Kelly and Ryan appearance. My parents gave me a crazy expensive gift for my birthday a Cartier love bracelet which I haven't taken off since I got it. I've finished getting ready and I am just waiting for my intro. Once that's done I come out and greet Kelly and Ryan and we sit down "Welcome am I correct in saying this is your second US tv appearance. You look incredible by the way very Ingrid Bergman" she says "Thank you I've been going for very retro vintage styling lately.Yeah and this is probably my fourth or fifth tv appearance" I say "Happy belated birthday it was Saturday right. How'd you'd celebrate" Ryan asks "I'm shooting in Vancouver at the minute so I was there and my brother flew out and some of my friends and my boyfriend surprised me and we had simple dinner and drinks" I say and a picture of me and my friends, my brother and Scott shows up on the screen "Did Scott do good in the gift department?" she asks "Yeah we've only been together a short time so I was expecting something simple like flowers or something but he booked us a holiday to Fiji so we're going end of the month for two weeks which I'm excited about as we wrap filming around then so it's perfect timing. He definitely surprised me with that" I say "I have to say you make a very attractive couple. You started in theatre do you prefer being on stage or behind the camera" she says "I love the theatre I always have and I love doing tv and movies so that's where my focus is now but I am planning to go back to the theatre possibly next year sometime when I'm not crazy busy" I say "You have been having an amazing few months two hit movies and a huge reboot coming next year. Did you ever expect this to happen" he says "No way every actor wants to make it big in Hollywood but I would of been happy to make it in the British film industry that was my goal and I did that with Dollhouse and other films and now I'm about to either launch my career here or fail miserably but I couldn't be more grateful for our writers taking a chance on me a relative nobody" I say "We're glad they did. Describe the new movie for anyone who hasn't seen it" she says "It's called Never Leave Me and I play a young woman who was kidnapped as a child so she developed Stockholm syndrome with her captor sees him as her father and eventually he let's her leave the house go out go to college and make friends which she does and she starts to learn to function normally again in society after years of isolation and she develops a relationship with Bill Skargard's character and begins to drift away from her captor/father and he isn't happy about it and begins to hurt her and the people in her life in many different ways. It's quite a mind bending movie but it was such an amazing character to play" I say "We have a clip of you getting out and meeting people for the first time" he says and everyone claps when it's over "How do you get into character for something like that? she asks "We spoke with alot of psychologists who know alot about Stockholm syndrome and who've treated long term kidnap victims. There was alot of research involved and I learned a lot preparing for this role and it was incredibly eye opening for me" I say "You mentioned Bill Skargard who's known for playing dark characters but he's kinda the hero in this movie" he says "Yeah he cares about my character alot and she's very hesitant at first and he becomes more suspicious as things progress because she never let's him see her house or meet her father and he eventually discovers the truth. Bill is an amazing actor and we both come from similar genres he's known for playing dark characters and I've worked in mostly horror and thriller movies so we bonded quite quickly and he had just finished IT at the time which I didn't know about until later and then he invited me to the premiere and it's such an amazing movie and the kids were amazing" I say "It is a really good movie. We loved having you here Never Leave Me is in theatres this Friday. Violet Murray everyone" she says.
