Chapter Nine

Skipping over Christmas and New Year

I had an amazing time with my family over the holidays and I am spending my remaining time off with Scott. We got back from Sydney after New Year's and we've been relaxing and enjoying a work and phone free few days and we spent some time with Scott's mom after New Year's also. We've been making plans for the coming months including a trip to London and a few other trips during the year. The Golden Globes are happening this weekend so I've been attending some events in the build up and will be attending an after party or two. Today I am attending the wmag it girls luncheon and I also have a fitting for dresses with my stylist at Scott's place which he's thrilled about. We've just got back from the gym and we're freshening up. Dress trying on starts and Scott watches with Freddie until we find the perfect one "We'll go with black and silver accessories and a dark lip minimal eye makeup" she says "Perfect I need to get ready for the luncheon" I say "Outfit is all laid out upstairs giving you a very classic look" she says "See you Sunday" I say and I head upstairs to get dressed "I'll see you later. Love you" I say and race for the door before he can say anything. I'm photographed and I do some interviews talking about my new foundation and Slayer which is really taking off and my involvement in the Times Up movement.

I get back to Scott's and it looks like he's out so I go and run myself a bath to unwind complete with bubbles, candles and some relaxing music. I'm enjoying a nice soak so I hadn't even noticed that Scott had come home until he said "Looks nice" he says "I needed to unwind figured a bath would help" I say "What you said earlier when you left we gonna talk about it" he says "It slipped out almost like a reflex I always say it to my mum when I'm leaving" I say "So it didn't mean anything" he says "We've been together for three months nearly four how do we know if it's love yet" I say "When I was planning on asking you to move in with me, how you always find the positive in a shitty situation, your passion and drive for everything you do and many other reasons why I'm in love with you" he says "I love you too" I say "Mind if I join you" he says "Come on in" I say. We spend the evening relaxing cooking dinner and watching a movie and I've never been happier.

Even though I had planned to go home to London once filming wrapped on Slayer my plans have changed. I'm still going to do the play I planned to do during the summer but I'll be selling my place in London before then and moving to San Diego permanently. Scott and I had planned a trip to London next month anyway so I'll be sorting things out then. It's Golden Globes night and we are heading to the Instyle magazine after party "You look amazing" Scott says once the glam squad are done making me look amazing "You don't look so bad yourself Mr.Eastwood" I say and we share a quick kiss and we head off.  "I feel like a third wheel" Geoff one of Scott's closest friends who came with us tonight "It's cool really I've been hogging Scott the last few weeks so it's only fair and I'm the lucky one having two dates" I say "She's a keeper dude" he says "Don't I know it" Scott says. We walk the red carpet and stop to speak to some press "Violet looking stunning as always. Your obviously standing with the women of Hollywood here tonight wearing black for the Times Up movement has it been a support system for you since coming out about your own experience with sexual assault" she says "Not a support system but something to focus on. I didn't have anything like this when I went through what I did and seeing the solidarity here tonight sends such a strong message to women and young girls everywhere that we stand with you and support you and I wish I had something like this happening when I was younger" I say "Your involved in the movement and you have your own movement steadily building are you hoping to combine the two" she says "Absolutely I think the more people telling their stories the more the movement will continue to grow and keep the conversation going and not let it be forgotten. I think this will become an iconic part of this year and history" I say "I'm sure it will" she says and Scott joins us "Have to steal her away for some photos if you don't mind" he says "Not at all enjoy your night" she says. We end up having an amazing night and pay for it slightly the next morning with a bit of a hangover but I have to pack to go back to Vancouver tonight "One I hate packing two I hate leaving here and you" I say "It's two months and we have our trip to London next month to look forward to including our weekend in Edinburgh. I may also have a surprise for you when you get back consider it a moving in present" he says "I have to wait two months for a moving in present" I say "Yes" he says "Your a horrible person for telling me about it now because I'm going to be wondering what it is and annoying you constantly until then" I say "It will be worth it" he says "Better be" I say.
