We've been on our vacation to Fiji and I have another week or so of filming left. I should be in San Diego spending time with Scott but instead I am in London auditioning for plays I hope to be apart of in the new year. I have an interview with Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show and then I'm going on This Morning to talk about a charity I'm working with and our new campaign and spending time with my brother and some friends. I'm up early for the breakfast show and I'm lucky that it's hosted by one of my good friends Nick Grimshaw so it's going to be relaxed and just like a normal chat. Once I've finished that which was super fun ITV studios and have a quick outfit and make up change I'm ready for This Morning.
I'm waiting for us to come back from commercial and chatting with Phil and Holly "She's best known for her roles on the big screen but today she's here speaking out about her own personal experience of sexual assault and what she's doing to raise awareness. We're pleased to welcome Violet Murray" Phil says "Thank you for having me" I say "Before we get into the reason your here we have to talk about the amazing few months you've been having its always great to see homegrown talent making it in Hollywood. I'm sure you've been asked this before but did you ever expect this" he says "Not at all but if I hadn't been given the opportunity to take part in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot then I wouldn't be considering leaving London or I wouldn't of met my boyfriend and been able to see him as much as I do now. So I'm incredibly grateful that the creators saw something in me and gave me the opportunity" I say "You mentioned moving will that be to Vancouver where your currently shooting Slayer or LA?" she asks "I'm not sure it will probably be late next year before I do move as I'm gonna be here doing some theatre in the new year so it all depends on how long that goes on for and whether or not we have a second season of Slayer which fingers crossed we do which will probably mean I'll live in Vancouver and spend weekends in San Diego with my boyfriend" I say "Can we touch briefly on your boyfriend he's the son of Clint Eastwood and the spitting image of his father. Is the prospect of meeting Clint and dating Scott daunting" she says "Scott is one of the most down to earth and humble people I've ever met and he's that way because of his dad so meeting the man who helped make Scott into the man he is doesn't have me worried because I know he's as down to earth as his son and someone I respect greatly" I say and they show a picture of us "Very attractive couple and your both very adventurous and outdoorsy" he says "I guess so we like hiking and Scott is teaching me to surf but I think the main thing we do together is going to the gym. Scott is big into fitness and I'm in a role that is physically demanding so we're spending a lot of time in the gym but I intend to let myself go slightly come Christmas" I say "Will you spend the holidays here?" he asks "Yes I'll be back here the week before Christmas spend a week here in London with friends and then my brother and I will drive home to Reading and we'll go to Edinburgh to my grandparents for Christmas day and Boxing day and then back to Reading and San Diego for New Year's" I say "You opened up very publicly about your sexual assault when you were a teenager and you've now established a new platform for others to share their stories" she says "Yeah its a social media campaign we have all the accounts from twitter to Snapchat and a website also and we're encouraging women to share their stories however minor and women who may not of received the justice they deserved we aim to help them achieve this in whatever way we can. We wanna keep the conversation going and not let the bigger stories overshadow the smaller ones because in the end everyone deserves justice" I say "You've been silently working with organisations like this for years and your involved in a number of other charities here and in the US. Has sharing your story made you want to be more public about these things?" he asks "In a way yes I've worked with Stand up to Cancer and the Endit movement quite openly for years now but I always kept my involvement with domestic violence charities and organisations for victims of sexual assault quiet because I knew it would bring up questions as to why I'm such a strong advocate for them but I think the time for staying silent is over and sometimes silence can speak volumes and open it up to interpretation which isn't always positive" I say "Very true we have all the links running across the screen now and we wish you the very best in all you do and wonderful to meet you" he says "You too and thank you for having me" I say.
I spend the rest of my time off in San Diego with Scott and we are going on our holiday next weekend which I am so excited for and Scott is going on another trip to Japan not that long after we get back but I'm going to be spending some time in LA and New York before Christmas so it will fill the gap until we see each other before I go home for Christmas.
