Overcome (Scott Eastwood fanfiction)

Chapter One

I live in London and my parents lived there when they first got together but moved us to Reading when I was five. I'm an actress and have been acting for eight years now doing work on and off while I was attending university. I do occasionally travel to the US and I'm considering a permanent move there as I've been working on a new show and if it takes off it will make sense to move. I'm currently in LA with some friends and for work but it's one of my closest friends birthdays and she lives out here so I couldn't not come. We've had dinner and we are now at a bar "First rounds on me birthday girl" I say and head for the bar while they grab a table. We drink and dance and I take a break and head for the bathroom to freshen up. On my way back to my friends I'm checking a message from my agent and not looking where I'm going and bump into someone and nearly drop my phone "I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going" I say and look up and see Scott Eastwood standing there "No worries" he says and flashes me a charming smile "Again I'm sorry" I say and turn to go "Wait can I buy you a drink" he says "I'm here with friends. But why don't we let fate decide if the universe wants us to meet again and potentially pursue whatever this may be it will if not we know it wasn't meant to be and you can buy me all the drinks you want" I say "You really wanna have some made up concept decide" he says "I'm taking a risk if fate goes in your favour I don't date famous guys because it opens me up to scrutiny so count yourself lucky if we do meet again" I say and leave and go back to my friends.

I'm in New York now for New York Comic Con as we're announcing something very exciting. I'm waiting to do our panel/announcement and watching some of the other panels and Pacific Rim is having a panel and Scott is here. I wait backstage til there done "I guess it was meant to be" I say as he comes off stage and is surprised to see me and John and I hug when he comes off "We're friends if you didn't guess already" I say "You here for work" John says "Yeah announcing something career changing for me potentially" I say "You deserve it gotta go but we need to have a proper catch up" he says "Dinner later I'm here til tomorrow" I say "Sure I'll text you" he says and heads off leaving just me and Scott "So your an actress" he says "Yes but no one knows me outside of the UK I too have a rather famous dad in England anyway" I say "Did you know I was gonna be here" he says "No idea" I say "What's your name?" he asks "Violet Murray" I say and I extend my hand and we shake hands "Well Violet instead of dinner with John why not have dinner with me instead" he says "I'll think about it but right now I have a panel to get to" I say "Your really making me work for this" he says "It wouldn't be worth it otherwise" I say.

We do our panel announcing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot and we show a little teaser and we then do a short panel session "First of all welcome to Violet and Oliver to Comic-Con and to New York" says our moderator "Thanks for having us Brits" Oliver says "So your both pretty unknown here in the US Violet more so and you've signed on for a huge reboot was that daunting for either of you" he says "Definitely for me I've only ever worked in the UK and a little in Europe and the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer is such a American and worldwide cult classic that it's scary stepping into something like this because fans will either love it or hate it" I say "We saw from the teaser which is from your first episode that there's some tension and Violet your character is pretty bad ass and we have alot of bad ass females in television right now. Your looking very powerful in your suit right now. Can you tell us a little about that" he says and our writer Henry takes that one "When we were looking to cast this initially we were looking for someone more well known and then I saw Violet in her amazing new upcoming movie Dollhouse and she was so vulnerable at times and also incredibly strong and fierce throughout and I thought forget someone well known she's our girl and we got in touch with her agent and she auditioned and was perfect. As for the tension you saw you'll have to ask Violet and Oliver about that" he says "First off I did not ask him to plug my movie but thank you for that also I love this outfit so much so huge thanks to my stylist and dear friend Emma who's been with me for awhile now and is amazing. In terms of tension it's not just your usual sexual tension it's anger too because my character and Oliver's have a past which we'll learn about in a later episode and there on opposite sides in the same fight and she kinda hoped he'd choose her this time. Little hint there" I say "My character knew her before she was a Slayer and he played a huge part in her training and her life back then and he may of made a mistake when he chose his career over her or he may of been protecting her from something we'll also learn about in a later episode" Oliver says "How many episodes are you in script wise or shooting wise?" he asks "We're four episodes into shooting and seven episodes in script wise these guys will get new scripts on Monday for those episodes" says Henry "Speaking of training how long were you guys doing that before filming started" he says "Four months prep work and we're constantly training for stunts on set and training in our free time it's never ending and confusing because we learn so many different types of martial arts and different weapons that you forget which is which sometimes" I say "Your shooting in Vancouver and Toronto where alot of other shows shoot any cast interactions" he says "Not really I know some of the people from the shows so I'd hang out with them anyway but we share a gym with the shadowhunters cast so we see them alot and there pretty cool to hang with" I say "Last thing before we open it up to fan questions. Describe the show in one word" he says "Dark" I say and everyone else answers and we answer some fan questions.

After we're done I find Scott waiting for me "So yes or no to dinner" he says "Answer this question and I'll answer yours. Why so interested you could have any girl you want why me" I say "I changed my flight so I could stay here and take you out which is something I've never done before and you're different in a good way and I wanna get to know you better" he says "Give me five minutes to ditch the heels and throw on a jumper and I'm all yours" I say "I'll wait outside" he says. Once I'm a little more comfortable I meet up with Scott and we get in a car and go to a restaurant.

We're now sitting down having a drink while we wait for our food "So what part of the UK are you from? he asks "Born in London but we moved to Reading when I was five but my dad is Scottish so we've always travelled between Reading and Edinburgh" I say "Tell me more about your rather famous dad" he says "He's a musician rock and roll mostly he performs almost every year at the Reading music festival with his band but they haven't released an album in nine years so he's retired basically. My brother is trying to take over with his indie band" I say "Older or younger?" he asks "Younger by two years" I say "You didn't go down the music route" he says "I play the piano guitar too I'm not a terrible singer but I've always loved acting I like being someone else for a little while" I say "Don't we all" he says and our food comes. We chat some more and have a nice time "You said agreeing to go out with me would open you up to scrutiny what did you mean by that" he says "You have a following here and dating you would mean people will wanna know everything about me and may not agree with us being together and I like my anonymity and keeping my private life private" I say "I like keeping things like that private too but sometimes we can't help it and it's part of being in Hollywood and the public eye" he says "I guess I'm not ready for that yet" I say "I hope that doesn't stop us from hanging out" he says "It won't" I say. We exchange numbers and he heads off to catch his flight.
