Livin' In Paradise (A Magcon Fanfic)

Chapter 1

Caitlin's POV

My name is Caitlin. I'm 15 years old and I live in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. I live with my mom, dad and my younger sister, Elizabeth (Liz). And yes, I know Shawn Mendes.

Shawn Mendes may be famous, but if you get to know him, he's not famous at all. He's just an ordinary, down to earth guy.

Shawn and I were close friends when we were younger. We did everything together. He lives only a few blocks away. Our families were and still are really close too.

But the two of us have really drifted apart. He started becoming more into music and he got too busy to hangout with me. He was always recording videos and vines or hanging out with his friends.

A few years later he was discovered and asked to join Magcon, which meant he had even less time for me. Soon after he left for the Magcon Tour, coming back to Canada for only brief periods of time. Thats where he is right now, the Magcon Tour.

I'm surprised I'm saying this but it's actually kinda boring without Shawn here. I have a lot of friends and a couple really good best friends, but even then it just isn't the same without him.

Even though we barely talked before he left, I still miss him. But hopefully he is coming home soon.

The sound of Jack Glinsky's beautiful voice fills my room, as I'm listening to Flights by Jack and Jack on youtube. It's Saturday afternoon and I have nothing better to do. I'm on my laptop in my bedroom, on youtube and watching videos of all the Magcon boys: Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Matthew Espinosa, Jack Gilinsky and Jack Johnson, Aaron Carpenter, Taylor Caniff, Carter Reynolds and Shawn. I am a HUGE fan of Magcon, and not just because Shawn is in it either. I love them so much. They are hilarious, sweet and really cute! I just can't explain how much I love them. My dream is to meet them one day at their convention.

As I'm watching the videos I can hear the doorbell ring and my dog, Mindi, a toy Yorkie-Maltese cross, barking really loud and high pitched. A lot of the time her bark sounds like a squeak. I can hear my mom open the door. I walk out of my room and over to the entry way to see who is here. It's Shawn's mom and his younger sister, Aaliyah.

My mom and Shawn's mom are really close, she's at our house most of the time.

"Hey Caitlin," she greets me with a smile on her face.

"Hey," I respond.

"Come on in," my mom says.

"How have you guys been?" She asks my mom and I. My dad is at work and my sister is probably in her room.

"Good, how about you guys?" My mom responds.

"Great."

"Aaliyah, Liz is her bedroom," my mom tells the girl, reading her mind. Aaliyah is my sister's age, 10. She hangs out with my sister all the time.

Aaliyah goes to Liz's room and the mothers go into the kitchen to chat and probably drink tea or coffee.

Knowing my mom, they will be talking for awhile so I decide to take Mindi for a walk. I grab my winter coat and go outside holding my dogs leash.

As I step out the door the cold, February air rushes to my body and I shiver. Maybe going outside wasn't the best idea, but I go anyway.

I hate winters in Canada. If I could, I would just live somewhere where its warm all year round. Maybe California, I don't know.

It's a short walk so that my hands don't get frostbite from not wearing any mitts. I go back into the house and into the kitchen where my mom and Mrs. Mendes are still talking.

Thirsty, I grab a glass from the cupboard and pour myself some water, as I do I listen to parts of their conversation.They are talking about Shawn.

"So how is Shawn? Have you talked to him?" My mom asks curiously.

"He's good. Their last show for awhile is next Friday in San Diego," she says.

"So where is he going after that then?" My mom asks.

"He's coming back home for a couple months until the tour starts back up again," she explains.

I can't believe it. Shawn is coming home! I haven't seen him in such a long time. It will be nice to get the chance to finally catch up with him. Well at least I hope I get to catch up with him.
