Caitlin's POV

"Caitlin, wake up!" I feel someone shaking me awake on Monday morning. I open my eyes to see my boyfriend looking back at me, smiling. It's still dark in my room. Why is he waking me up so early?

"Morning," Shawn says sweetly.

"Morning? It's still dark!" I exclaim. "The sun isn't even up."

"Ya that's the point," Shawn tells me. What is he talking about? "Come with me." He motions out of my bedroom. I get up and throw my sweater on and my flip flops and follow him. We walk outside to the deck.

"Shawn what are we doing?" I ask confused.

"Just come on," he replies. He leads me to a door.

"The storage closet?" I ask. It just looks like a little storage closet on the deck.

He opens the door to reveal a set of stairs. He walks up first and I follow him. It's pitch black, really steep and narrow. When Shawn gets to the top he opens another door. I feel like I'm in a movie and I'm going into another world. Maybe Narnia haha.

"Shawn where are-" I start and then stop. All of the roof on the house is slanted except for this one little part at the top that is flat kinda like a balcony, which is where we are. I didn't even know that it existed on this house. It has a breath taking view of the beach and the ocean that not even the top floor has.

"So does Cameron know about this place?" I ask curiously.

"No, none of the boys do," Shawn states. "Cameron thought it was just a storage closet."

I smile. That's exactly what I thought it was too. It's so cool up here.

"That's why I wanted to wake you up early," he says pointing at the beautiful sunrise. I've never been on a roof of a house before, especially not in LA watching the sunrise over the ocean with my boyfriend. I admit it's amazing.

"It's beautiful!" I exclaim.

"Like you," Shawn says sweetly. I blush and laugh. "Don't laugh it's true." He leans down and kisses my lips.

I smile. "I just want to pause this moment," I tell Shawn. He is now standing behind me, his arms wrapped around me kissing my cheek.

"Me too," he agrees.

"So are we going to tell the others about this place?" I ask him.

"Nah it can be our little secret place," he says kissing my lips again.

Today we are going into LA. "Can't we please go shopping today?" Kaylor asks the boys. They all groan saying no. All except for Jacob.

"No. I think you, Caitlin, Mahogany and Jacob are going shopping a different day," Aaron replies.

"Wait, why are you going shopping?" I ask Jacob. Usually guys don't like shopping, especially not like girls do. Well at least most of the guys I know.

"I need some more cat shirts," he says nonchalant, as if it's completely normal for most of your wardrobe to be cat shirts. I just shake my head and try as hard as I can not to laugh. This kid is obsessed with cats.

We all leave to go to LA, all in different cars. Shawn, Taylor, Jacob and I take "Taylor's rental girlfriend" Sarah. Taylor drives, Shawn sits in the passenger seat and Jacob and I sit in the back.

When we get there we walk down Hollywood Boulevard to see the Walk Of Fame. We take a couple pictures there.

Then we take some pictures with the hollywood sign in the background. Kaylor takes a lot of the pictures. She loves taking pictures.

We go and do some more touristy stuff in LA. LA is so beautiful! There are palm trees everywhere! I smile.

"What are you smiling about?" Shawn asks curiously.

"I'm just thinking about my grandpa. He would love it here," I start to explain. "He loves palm trees but they have never been in a airplane before because my grandma is too scared to fly. So he never sees them."

I take tons of pictures of the scenery. Pictures of the ocean and palm trees to give to my grandpa when I get back.

I realize that if I was like my grandma, who lets her fears get in the way of living, I would never have met the amazing group of people standing around me right now. I wouldn't be spending my summer with my best friends in the world.

All of us take our shoes off and walk across the beach. Shawn and I holding hands and Jack and Kaylor holding hands. I turn to Kaylor and think of a song. I can tell she is thinking of the same song. I don't know. It's our lost lost sister twin telepathy, it's gotta be. I don't know. The whole song describes this summer perfectly. We sing together, "Were just living in paradise."
