Chapter 23

Caitlin's POV

After we go back to the hotel for a bit and chill out. We end up watching both the Percy Jackson movies. Kaylor is right into them, having read the book. Don't get me wrong I do like Percy Jackson I just haven't read the books.

At 5:45 Jack picks Kaylor up for their date. I can tell she's been excited.

"Kaylor, I won't be here when you get back. Our flight leaves earlier than everyone else's," I tell her.

She gives me a huge hug. "I can tell we have become such great friends," she says. "I'm gonna miss hanging out with you."

"Me too," I admit. "But we'll see each other in the summer!"

"Yes! Oh my goodness I can't wait! LA is gonna be so much fun!" She exclaims.

"Ya I know right," I agree. "Well text me until then."

"Yes thats a must!" We both laugh. "Have a safe flight home."

"You too," I reply. I say bye to Jack too.

Jack and Kaylor leave to go on their date. I pack up my suitcase. I end up having to sit on it on the bed to make it close. Mahogany and Kat laugh at my struggling and I laugh with them. It all fit before! I get really frustrated and give up. I hear a knock on our door. Mahogany gets it. It's Shawn.

"Are you ready yet?" He asks me. He smiles when he sees me sitting on my suitcase on the bed. "Having troubles?"

"Yes! I've been trying to close this thing for almost an hour!" I exclaim frustrated. He laughs. I give him a look saying its not funny. He grabs the zipper on my suitcase, me still sitting on it, and zips it up in a second. "Well now it zips up!" We both laugh.

I say goodbye to Mahogany and Kat. Then I go over to the boys room and say goodbye to the rest of the boys. I hug all of the boys. Jacob gives me a big hug. We have become really good friends.

"Thanks again for everything Bart," I thank him. Then Shawn and I leave to go to the airport.

When we get to the airport we find out that our flight has been delayed because of a snowstorm in Canada. So we wait in the airport for what feels like the longest time.

We finally board the airplane. Shawn lets me have the window seat this time. We don't leave New York until really late and by this time I am so tired.

I try watching a movie but my eyes can't stay open anymore. I rest my head on Shawn and finally give into sleep. The last thing I remember is him playing with my hair.

When I wake up we have landed. After we go through baggage claim and all that stuff, Mrs. Mendes drives me home. I thank her for the ride and everything.

Shawn walks me to the door. My parents are asleep and I don't blame them it is almost 2am. "This weekend has been amazing!" I smile.

"It has," he agrees. "You should get some sleep, you have school tomorrow." He suddenly gets really close to me, so close are lips are almost touching. He kisses me. It's a gentle, sweet kiss.

Even though it was over really fast, it felt good. It felt right being with him. We've been best friends since we were little, neither of us knew if it would work out between us. But its a chance we have to take.

"Goodnight Shawn," I say.

"Goodnight Caitlin."
