Kaylor's POV
I wake up around 11 the next morning. Ahh, the joy of sleeping in. I roll out of my warm bed and walk over to the huge bathroom. Just as I'm brushing my teeth, Caitlin walks in.
"Good morning." I mumble through the frothy toothpaste. We both laugh.
"Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or perhaps that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good on this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?" She replies. We both burst into laughter again, knowing exactly where that fabulous quote came from.
"We need to have a LOTR's marathon! And a Hobbit marathon too!" I exclaim.
"Totally! So what are we doing today?"
"I think we are going to the beach, but I don't know for sure. I always get mixed messages from those boys." She laughs, which I take as an agreement. I spit out my toothpaste and wipe the white mustache from my face. I quickly wash my face, go pee and apply some light makeup. I know, I know, we're going to the beach but its all waterproof. I only put on eyeliner, mascara and some cover up so that at least I wont have pimples for part of the day. I then walk back into my room and change into an orange and white polka dotted bikini, with a flowy white strapless cover-up.
I walk out to the living room, where I take a seat next to Jack. He kisses my cheek and mumbles good morning. I giggle, because he's only half awake. That reminds me of a time...haha well that can still stay a secret;). We all talk for a few minutes, and then head off to the beach.
We walk outside and the fresh air and sunshine greets me. I sigh and lay my towel on the sand. Caitlin puts hers next to mine. I put my Raybans on and lay back. This is the life. I close my eyes, but a second later I open them again, for a bucket of cold water is thrown on me.
"Jack! I'm gunna kill you!!!!" I get up and chase the brown haired, annoyingly cute boy. He puts a hand to his heart and mocks hurt. I roll my eyes. I chase him into the blue wake, and I splash him. We laugh and he picks me up over his shoulder. "Jack! Ahhhhh help! Jack put me down!" I scream.
"Never! Oh put you down? Okay!" Jack's smile has a mischievous look to it. He wades out deeper, and drops me in the ocean water.
"Oooooh you are so asking for it now!" I get up and continue to chase him through the water and the beach. He finally lets me catch him, and he grabs me before I can get revenge. He spins me in the air a couple times, before setting me on the soft sand.
"Truce?" he asks.
"Truce." He smiles and leans down for a kiss. I lift my chin and invite him. Some of the boys hoot and holler, but we ignore them. When I can breathe again, I walk over to my towel and lay down. It's still damp, but I'll survive. Jack leaves, but comes back a few seconds later and sits beside me.
"We're just livin' in paradise, right?" he whispers in my ear. I smile.
"Totally," I sigh, "I just want to freeze this moment, and live in it forever." Something lands next to me in the sand. Jack picks it up and throws it to Nash. It turns out it was a football.
"Go join them." I tell him, and he rushes off to play. A few minutes later, we hear Hayes yell, "HEADS UP!" I duck, but the ball wasn't coming for me. It smokes Mahogany in the head.
"Oh my gosh are you okay?" I ask her. She rubs her head and nods.
"Ya I'm fine." Hayes runs over to retrieve the ball.
"I'm so sorry!" he says, but she shoves him into the sand anyways. We all laugh.
~A few hours later, at sunset~
We've gathered in a circle in the sand, all of us. Shawn has his guitar, and he's softly strumming in the background of all the talking.
"What did you do for a first date?" I ask, incredibly disgusted.
"I told you, I made her an-" Nash says.
"I heard you, I'm just really surprised. Why didn't you text me for advice or something? Like, I could have told you that was a bad idea! No wonder she didn't want a second date! Eww, egg salad. And a walk on the dock? Wow you need some dating advice. Its no surprise that you have no girlfriend." Everyone laughs at that.
"Who's next?" Matt asks. Cam puts his hand up.
"This'll be interesting." I mutter to Caitlin and we giggle. Actually, the story was more than interesting, it was super romantic. He brought the girl a white rose, and then he watched a movie with her and her dad. It was so sweet.
"Funny thing was, her dad left in the middle of the movie. He just got up and left." Cam says.
"Why did he leave?" Caitlin asks, reading my mind.
"I don't know. It was a long time ago so it's hard to remember." He replies. Laughter fills the air as I turn to look at Caitlin.
"Hey, can I talk to you?" she nods and follows me away from the group. "I know that you could tell that something was wrong, and I just wanted to fill you in." I tell her everything, and she listens.
"So...when is your dad going to come back?" she asks, kind of nervous to be upfront.
"I really don't know. I just hope he comes back at all." Caitlin then wraps her arms around me. "Thanks for being a great friend. And for listening even though my storytelling sucks."
"Of course, that's what best friends are for!" she smiles.
"Nah, I don't think we're best friends, I think we are more like long lost sister twins! Like, we have so much in common its like we are related!" we giggle and hug again.
"Okay," She says, "Long lost sister twins. Forever."
"Forever." With that we join the circle again.
By the time we get back in the circle, the stars are out. Jack comes up from behind me and puts his arms around me.
"7:00, tomorrow night. Just you and me. How's that sound?" he whispers in my ear.
"Sounds like paradise."
