-Herc pov-
I was pacing around my bedroom. Me and Laf have been close lately. Like, close. Probably for almost 4 months now, and we haven't even been on a proper date. And I think tomorrow is the perfect day to ask. I'm finally gonna ask out Laf on a date. But how..? I wanna make it special for our first date. That is... if he agrees. Shit,, what if Laf rejects me? Would that ruin our 'friendship'? I don't want to loose Laf. He's such a great person.
-
I was at school, waiting at Alex's locker. I needed his help with asking out Laf on a date.
He came in looking down on a lined piece of paper, reading it. When he was close enough I screamed, "ALEX."
"SHIT-FFKFJ." He waved his arms exaggeratedly, dropping his paper.
"DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT." He stomped his foot then bent down to get a hold of his paper.
"Sorry! I need help!" He looked up at me.
"W-well, me and Laf have been, really close lately-" Alex shot a smirk at me.
"Stop that."
"I knew there was something-"
"Shut up!!"
"Relax. Just continue on what you're going to say." He nudged my arm.
"So me and Laf have been really close.. and I think I want to finally ask him out on a d-date." I tugged on my shirt. Alex jumped in excitement.
"I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT!!" He pointed finger guns at me, smiling really stupid.
"You're making the right decision Herc." He patted my back.
"But How should I ask him on a date?"
"Um.. using words?"
"That's not what I meant. Like should I make it special? Like make a card and buy chocolates or something??"
"Hell, why you asking me? Out of all people you ask the guy with no romantic experiences??" Alex crossed his arms.
"I don't know who else to ask! You and Laf are my closest friends and obviously I can't ask Laf because-"
"Okay, I get it. But, I do know someone who might be able to help.." Alex suggested.
"Who?"
-
"So what do you need help for?" Peggy asked.
"I want to ask out Lafayette on a date but I don't know if I should make it special or just ask him out casually. Alex suggested me to ask you because you have experience and you're actually in a relationship now." I explained.
"Hmm. It'd be cute to do something special but not too special.. y'know what I mean? Like, it's only the first date. You don't need to do something over the top," Peggy continued, "What are things Lafayette likes?"
"France." I responded immediately.
"Oh...well I was referring more to an item rather than a place because I was gonna say give that item to him and than ask him out."
"Oh." I rubbed my neck.
"Well, maybe give him something that is made from France, or just anything French related." Peggy tapped her cheek.
"Okay. And where should I ask him?"
"Uhm.. Maybe wait at the front of his house? That might be cute. It's like a big surprise when he gets home from school." Peggy explained.
"Oh alright. Thank you!" I thanked. She grinned at me.
-School ended. Laf has student counsel, so he won't be home for another hour. So that means I only have 1 hour to prepare. Something French related? Maybe like a French sweet? Hmm... I know, macarons. Laf loves those. I'll order 6 from the bakery.
I called the bakery for 6 macarons. I told them I need them before 4.
Okay. I should get ready.
-
I was driving to the bakery, practicing how I'm gonna ask Laf on a date.
"Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, will you- no. That's too much. Lafayette, will you go on a date with me? Hm, maybe I should just say Laf. But is that too casual? Laffy-no. Ugh! Why is this so hard." I parked my car, and walked to the bakery.
"Good afternoon! How may I help you?" The man assisted.
"Actually, I already made an order on the phone for 6 macarons."
"Oh. We are sorry sir, but we need a little more time to make them. Maybe 30 more minutes? We had a lot of orders today and-"
"30 minutes? It would be 4 by then, and I need them before hand." I interrupted.
"I'm sorry, but-"
"I need it now!" I slammed my fist on the desk.
"Sir! I need you to understand that we had a bunch of orders today." The man explained.
"I-!.. Know. I'm sorry. Just...forget it." I stormed out the bakery.
"What will I do now? It doesn't feel special to just ask." I turned my head to my left. A flower shop. Roses on sale? Hm.
I walk in the store, there was an old woman reading a book. I walked over to the desk and she looks up to me.
"May I help you?" She pushed her glasses up a little.
"Um, yes. Do you have any roses?" I fiddled with my fingers.
"Oh yes. We actually have 1 more. Is that alright?"
"Yes of course. Anything." I whipped out my wallet, getting my money out.
"That would be 5 dollars sir." I handed a 10 dollar bill, she placed it in the cash register and gave me change. She held out the rose and I took it carefully, preventing thorns from poking me.
It's not much, but it's something.
-
I was standing on Lafayette's porch. Talking to myself until he gets home.
"Okay, you can do this. You got this. You got this. You got-" I hear a car pull in. I peeked beside the wall a little. It's Laf. I start to breath heavily. I'm doing this.
Laf walked up and I was holding out the rose.
"Lafayette. We've been being very close lately. For the past 4 months actually," I chucked. Laf's neutral face turned into a pleasing grin, "and I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?"
Laf smiled really big. "Oui! I would love to!" He took the rose and hugged me.
An: this is very rushed but next chapter I'll try to make it more detailed and ill also try to get part 2 published as soon as I can.
