29. Prom 2/2

"Eliza, I'll be right back, okay?" I say.

"W-Wait, Alex-"

"I'm sorry." I take my hands off her and exit out the gym. I go to an empty hallway. I take my phone out and call John.

Ring.. Ring.. Ring..

"Hello?" John says.

"John! Thank god you picked up!" I said in relief.

"Alex, listen. I've been thinking about this situation, and I realized that I shouldn't of ignored you. Well, I shouldn't of ignored you for so long. I was actually just about to call you. I'm sorry for being so silent and cold. You're right, I can't just leave you like that without know what you did-"

"John, I know what I did. I'm sorry for being so fucking stupid. I'm sorry for everything." I cut him off.

"I know you like me. Like, have feelings for me." He was silent.

"And here's the thing," I go on.

"..I have feelings for you too."

"R-Really?" He chuckled in relief.

"Yes, I do. I had them for a while. And it took me so long to realize why you were upset because I couldn't believe that you, an amazing person, would like an annoying, stupid, prick like me. I didn't think you'd actually be heartbroken because you liked me. I've been convincing myself that there was some other reason." I explain.

"Alex, you have no idea how happy and glad I am." John said. I heard him sniffle, I think he was crying. I began to tear up a little too. I'm just so happy.

"But Alex, what about Eliza?" He asked.

"I don't like her. Well, not in the way she feels towards me. She's a great and beautiful human, but she isn't you.." I say.

"Shut up." He laughs.

"But it's true! I'm not just saying that." I giggle.

"John you have no idea how crazy these past weeks have been." I say.

"Oh..?" he replies.

"Here let me basically sum up that day where you heard everything."

"I'm listening." He says.

"So Eliza earlier that day had asked me to meet her at her house. So that's what I did, but she wasn't there. So I sat around with Angelica in her room. We were talking. It was all good when she suddenly she kisses me! I was in shock so I left and as I was leaving you called me, but Eliza walked in at the same time. So I put you on mute. Well, that's what I thought." I take a few breaths from talking. Then I continue.

"So she confessed and all, I wanted to say no, but it came out as yes. I just didn't want to hurt her, but I know I just made it harder for myself."

"Alex, you're playing her?!" he gasped.

"I know! I know! It's awful. I'm gonna break up with her soon. Just to get it done and over with before things get too 'serious'." I facepalm.

"At least that's it! I've talked to Angelica about the kiss just today and we're good now! And look at that! We're talking again." I try to bright things up.

"Damn Alex. You got it bad."

"I know." I sigh.

I had followed Alex. Just to make sure if he was okay or something, and guess what I find out!?
