John's pov

"Goooood mooornnninggg.."

Wuht.

I slowly open my eyes to see Alexander leaning towards me, holding a plate of pancakes with a turtle plushie balancing on his shoulder.

I sit up and cross my legs. I yawn, then ask, "What are you doing?"

"Here's some pancakes! I also got you a turtle plushie. Well, I was going to buy you flowers, but then I remembered you don't like them." Alex explained. I giggled.

"Why though?" I said, grinning.

"To do something special since we've finally met up. Anndddd maybe because I feel bad that you have to sleep on the couch." said Alex.

Right. Last night, Alex and I were having an awkward situation. The reason was because we didn't know where I would sleep. The options were a) I sleep in Alex's bed and then Alex sleeps on the couch. b) Vice versa. c) We sleep in Alex's bed together.

I could tell Alex was nervous by the thought of us sleeping in the same bed. So, I insisted on sleeping on the couch. We've only just met in person for the first time not too long ago, so it's understandable. Plus, we're not exactly official. I mean, yes, we are something, but we haven't talked about it since we've been together. I've only arrived Friday (it's Sunday today), so we've been more focused on enjoying our time together rather than talking about more serious stuff.

Anyway, back to present time.

"You really didn't have to." I say, as I take the plate from Alex.

"But I did anyway. John, it's fine. I wanted to." He removes the turtle plushie from his shoulder (which is quite impressive considering the fact that he's been balancing it there this whole time) and places it beside me.

I cut a triangle from one of the pancakes and take a bite.

"Damn Alex. This is pretty good."

"You like them?! I bought it from Mcdonald's!" he says proudly.

"Oh- uh.. right." I reply, pausing for a second. Then, I slowly continue eating the pancake.

"Okay, so I planned our day for today. I'm going to take you to some of my favourite spots/places in this area." Alex sits beside me, mirroring my crossed legged position.

"Which are..?" I reply.

"Nope! Not saying! It won't be as fun and interesting if I just tell you now. You'll know what to expect!" Explains Alex.

"Fair. Well, I'm excited for our date." I say, which seemed to surprise Alex a little.

"That is what it is, right?"

He paused for a few seconds. He answers while smiling, "Yeah, I guess it is. Our very first date."
