16. The New Guy

I walk into my school to her many whispers. There were different groups in the halls.

As I was walking, I heard some of the things people were saying.

"Who's that?!"

"I heard he came from a private school."

"Apparently he is like, rich as hell."

"His clothes look sooo expensive."

Suddenly someone pulled me to the side.

"Alex! Did you hear?!" Lafayette questioned. I was now in a group with Laf, Herc, Eliza, Peggy, and Angelica.

"About.. what?"

"The new guy. Everyone is talking about him.."

"Okay.. and why do they care so much??"

"Because he comes from one of the wealthiest families of this state." Peggy said.

"Really?"

"Well I mean.. that's what I heard."

"He's coming!!" someone shouted.

Everyone turned their heads. A kinda tall, dark skin, guy came walking down. He looked annoyed. I would to if everyone constantly looked at me like a living, walking disease.

He seemed lonely. I decided to walk up to him and invite him to our circle.

"Alex! What are you doing?!" Laf grabbed my shoulder.

"I'm going to treat him like a normal human being. Like, trying to be his friend??.." I slapped Laf's hand off my shoulder and continued to walk to him.

"Uh, hey..!" I give a little wave. The guy turned his head to me.

"I'm Alexander Hamilton."

"Oh, I'm uh, Aaron Burr." He looked down a few times. He seems shy.

"So I was wondering if you want to join me and my friends over there? Y'know, our little circle.." I pointed to the group I had left. He took time to think but then agreed. We walked over to them and everyone acted like they hadn't noticed us, talking softly to each other.

"Guys, this is Aaron Burr." I introduced him to the whole group. They didn't say anything until Peggy stepped forward and introduced herself. After that, the others did the same.

/at lunch/

"Soo, Aaron.. why'd you move?" Laf asked. He didn't respond.

"Helloo??" he jumped.

"Oh s-sorry. Lost in thoughts. I um.. I.. we.. m-my dad's business n' stuff. Yeah.." He stutter.

"Oh yeah, I can understand." Peggy joined in.

"So Burr-"

"Wha?" He looked shocked.

"Oh..is it okay if I call you that-?" I responded.

"Oh yeah it's fine. It's just, I've never been called by my last name before." he fiddled with his thumbs.

"Well, there's gonna be a lot of changes. But don't worry, in a good way." He gave a weak smile.

"Annyywayyss.. which school did you come from?"

"Oh.. uh, Preston.." everyone gasp.
(an: lol i searched up school names and that one just sounded fancy to me)

"pRESTON?! THat's like, one of the top 5 schools of the state!!" Laf shouted.

"Well-" Burr tapped his fingers.

"WOW. Why would you EVER transfer schools?! This school is like, garbage!" Peggy said. Burr opened his mouth until someone else said something.

"Wow! You're parents must very successful!." Eliza said.

"Wow. I'm shook." Angelica blinked a few times.

"You-"

"GUYS." I said loudly. Maybe a lil too loud.

"Uh- ahem. He's trying to tell us something. Let him speak!" We all turned our heads to him.

"Oh, uh, never mind. Don't worry about it." He gave a little smile.

I was giving Burr a tour around the school. Jeez, why do teachers always pick me to tour the new people?

They gave me a free period to show him around. I showed him the last room and I turned around facing Burr.

"Well that's our school!," I hold out my arms.

"Any questions? Or just-"

"No. It's pretty straight forward.. S-sorry! I hope that didn't come out as mean or anything." He looked down.

"What? Burr, no need to apologize. It didn't come off as rude at all." I smiled and patted his back. He smiled back.

The bell rang and crowds of students were leaving the classroom.

burr pov

"Okay! Want me to take you to your next class or-"

"No, I think I can manage." I kicked the ground a lil.

"Great! See ya later Burr." He gave a thumbs up and walked away.

Alexander is such a cool guy. He's so nice. But, I hope he isn't just doing that because he feels bad for me. No, Aaron, you need to start think positive. Not negative.

I begin walking, walking to my next class. Looking down. Saying "Think positive, not negative" over and over again in my head.

"Hey!" I look up. I bumped into a girl and made all her books fall.

"Oh my goodness! I'm very very sorry!" Dang it Aaron!

"Ugh, it's okay." She kneels down to pick up her books.

"L-let me help." I kneel down and grab few of her books.

We reach for the same book. My hand landing on top of her hand. We make eye contact. Wow. She has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. I gaze into her eyes but she quickly pulls her hand away. I look down at my hand and grab the book. I then handed back her belongings.

"Thanks." She softly said.

"You're welcome.." I gently grinned. She did too but then began to walk away.

I didn't want to loose her that easily. Don't let her go-

"Wait!" she turned around.

"What.. is your name..?" I question.

"Oh, my name is Theodosia. And you?"

"Aaron."

"Hm. Well, see you around,.. Aaron." she smiled.

"Y-yeah." I smiled. Like, a full, happy smile.

Wow. She is.. ahem. That was good. Good job! You talked to someone! You went to them instead of them coming to you. Great job Aaron! No, great job Burr! I'm at a new school now. New school, new me. I'm leaving the old me back in Preston. I think I'm doing good. I'm doing better!!

an: lmao ok so i forgot burr existed so ayye he's in the story now. i remembered mentioning abt a new kid in a chapter idk which tho and i forgot abt adding that so yea,, i remembered!!1!-!
