Chapter 8: That son of a monkey.

Previously:

It was 8:30 and me, Edward and Noah were the only ones left at the shop.

"I'll see you tomorrow Ri. Sleep tight." Edward gave me a tight hug that lasted a few seconds before he left.

Once the door closed, Noah spoke up. I hadn't talked to him since the table thing.

"One, I have no fucking idea why you're mad at me. Two, that Edwin guy's hug lasted a bit too long don't you think?" He growled.

"I'm mad at you because I'm totally capable of handling my own problems. And his name is Edward and he's just a friend. Also, why do you care?" I think I was a little too mad at him. But you can't actually blame me, after going through what I've gone through you can't allow other people to protect you, you can't put yourself through all that again.

"I just didn't like Edwin hugging you for that long nor did I like that guy talking to you that way." He said with crossed arms.

"I don't think I have a reason to care on what you like or dislike." Even though I'm enjoying this.

He didn't talk for a while, simply staring at the tiles. The he raised his head.

"You're right, forget about it. Go get changed, we have to leave. I'll close the shop. Don't worry." I gave him one last glance, his change on behavior really surprised me, before running up the stairs.

I wondered why he acted that way. Or better yet, why the hell did it feel that good.

Now:

I got downstairs after getting dressed. I had a pair of black jeans, a black tank top and a grey hoodie over it since it was meant to get colder tonight, for shoes I had my trusty red converse.

I know I lack combination but I seriously couldn't care less. I love my converse very much to the point I think it has become an unhealthy obsession.

Noah was sitting on a stool next to the counter, his head was resting on his crossed arms. I cleared my throat and he whipped his head up.

He eyes scanned me up and down before he looked me in the eyes.

"Let's go." He got up, making noise with the keys as he walked to the door. I followed after, not saying a word.

The car ride was silent until he broke it. "If what you are going to see seems bad to you, will you stop being friends with me?"

"How bad?" I asked turning to face him.

"Let's just say it's not actually... legal." He lowered his voice at the last part while I widened my eyes.

"If you're dealing drugs I'm jumping out of this car." I raised my voice and he chuckled. He actually chuckled. I just threatened that I would jump out of a moving car and he chuckled.

"I'm not dealing drugs."

"Well what are you doing?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
