"The loneliest moment in someone's life is when they are watching they whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly."
Chapter 10: I was thinking of checking in in an asylum. I must've been crazy all this time.
Previously:
The next day I went to the police again and showed them my bruises but they said I could've taken them anywhere and that without actual proof the law itself didn't allow them to do anything.
The next day my father was sober because after every night he would heavily drink would come the "regret day" when he would act all lovey dovey.
He told me that I was wasting my time going to the police because they were his friends. And then, as always, he said he was sorry for what he'd done the day before but by then, I knew better than to believe him.
Now:
I got sick. So, so sick. I felt like a drum competition had taken place on my head, I was coughing like there was no tomorrow, my stomach felt like it was being clenched by someone's hand and on top of all, what made me hotter than the Sun, my runny nose.
"Chocolate, are you sure you don't want to stay home?" My grandma asked with a worried look on her face.
"No, I'm going to school." Honestly, I would've loved to stay home but Noah hadn't respond my text or calls and I hadn't seen him since Saturday night when I left his house and I was getting worried.
"Fine." She sighed. "Just promise me you'll come home if you get worse."
"I promise."
"You look like shit." Sam said as I closed the door of his car.
"Gee thanks, you really know how to make a girl feel better." I said.
He chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"Stop that." I swatted his hand away.
"Don't get mad cutie." He cooed.
"Cutie?"
"I have a five year old cousin that loves being called 'cutie' and I guess it has stuck with me." He shrugged. "Aww, you really thought you're a cutie."
I slapped his shoulder and that made him laugh louder.
"Idiot." I mumbled.
"Have you talked to Winter this weekend?" He said glancing my way before turning his eyes back to the road.
"Not really. I spent all day yesterday sleeping." And trying to reach Noah but you don't have to know that.
He shrugged and a few minutes later we were at the school's parking lot.
"What. The. Actual. Fuck." Sam said. I turned my head in the direction he was looking and what I saw made me widen my eyes.
Winter was next to a red car, kissing some raven-haired guy. Although kissing would be an understatement. Sucking each other's faces off seemed more like it.
