"Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. I can't fear death no longer, I've died a thousand times."
Chapter 25: You thought you could just run away that night and everything would be perfect?
Previously:
"This is where I talk?" I was dreading to do so, so pushing the matter as further as I could was my goal.
"Yes." He answered ruining my plan.
I took a deep breath. "My father... he wasn't like the others." I let out a humorless chuckle. "Understatement of the year. He abused me." And so I told him everything. From my mother's death to my departure from this place to my father's drinking habits and then abuse to my escape the night we first met.
When I finished my head was lowered and a few tears had escaped but I didn't care. I felt his finger under my chin and he raised my head. I looked him in the eyes and saw so much passion and love. There wasn't any pity and I was so grateful for that.
"I'm sorry that happened to you. But I can't help myself from asking, why didn't you tell me?" Noah asked as he hugged me tight.
"I... I seriously don't know. I was scared. I don't know why but I was. I'm sorry." I said as I hugged him back.
"Baby, I love you. You can't be scared of me because I would kill for you." I chuckled at his statement. "You can laugh but it's true."
"I love you too." I snuggled my face on his neck and breathed his scent. It was good and pure and I loved it.
"I'm still mad at you for saying it first."
Now:
"Time's up ladies and gentlemen, the Blue Dragons have won this game and are now finalists of our annual school's championship."
I can proudly say no one was cheering more than me. I ran down the stairs and onto Noah's arms. He wrapped his arms around my waist and spun me around. I was grinning and laughing at the same time.
"You won!" I exclaimed.
He put me down and hugged me. "Did you doubt princess?"
I shook my head smiling. He kissed me softly and then he let go of me.
I turned around and went to hug Sam as well.
"We won." He exclaimed as we jumped up and down. Suddenly he was pulled away from me by Noah and his other teammates.
They all started doing this weird dance around the field, laughing and tripping each other and it was the most hilarious thing to see.
"We're going to celebrate this victory with pizza." One of them exclaimed but by now I wasn't sure which one.
Noah broke away from his group and came to me. "I'm gonna go and take a shower. Wait for me by the car, okay?"
"Sure." He kissed me and left.
Before he disappeared he turned around and smiled at me. "I love you." He shouted.
"I love you too." I shouted back.
After I couldn't see him anymore, I turned around and started walking towards his car. A smile was evident on my face and the stupid zoo had let their animals loose inside my stomach, but I didn't mind it at all. I enjoyed the feelings I got by just thinking about him.
I leaned against the hood of the car and took out my phone. I was scrolling down my Instagram feed until I got a text.
Father: My girl, it's time for a big surprise for you.
