Ch 7 // desires and racing and house elves oh my

A blonde boy awoke and heard the shuffling of two pairs of feet moving. He opened his eyes and looked around the room to see his best friend, Harry, leaving with his cousin down to the common room. "Hey guys, what are you doing?" asked Draco. He wanted to be a part of their group and get to know them better and become closer friends with them. Sure, he already had some when he came to Hogwarts, but he wanted to make his own. After hearing about Harry, though, he hoped that they could be best friends.

The two boys looked at each other and then to Draco. "Uh, just breakfast. You can stay and sleep longer" said Dudley trying to cover the truth that they were really going out to find the mirror Harry had found. "Oh. Can I come with you guys?" asked Draco. "You don't have to" said Harry. "It's breakfast. Everyone wants to" said Draco. Harry looked at Dudley and then turned back to Draco. "We're not really going to breakfast" said Harry. "No" said Draco sarcastically. He was a very smart boy and not easily tricked. He was much like Hermione except he talked more and he was a bit mean compared to her. He already knew they were lying and just wanted to play along.

Draco got up from his bed and quickly put on his own clothes in twenty seconds. "There, I'm dressed. Now we can go" said Draco. "Fine" said Harry. He turned and led the way down to the common room and then down a hall long and far before he saw the room slightly opened. He went in the dark room first and then smiled as he saw the blurry outline of his parents in the mirror across the room. "What is it?" asked Draco. "It's a mirror. I don't know what it shows but I'm sure it's different for everyone else" said Harry. "Yeah? What do you see?" asked Draco as they approached it slowly.

Harry walked up to the mirror and went right in front of it. "My parents" he answered. "Really? That's cool" said Draco as he slowly got closer to the mirror. "What about you Dudley?" asked Draco. Dudley seemed a bit quiet and nervous but eventually responded. "I see my dad smiling and happy and my mum too. You're there as well, Harry, and...," Dudley trailed off. "What?" asked Harry. "Your parents" said Dudley. "Really? Awesome! Now we both can see them" said Harry. Draco remained quiet. He didn't want to say what he saw. It was not what he even expected. He didn't know what the mirror showed, but it was strange. He wasn't sure what it meant.

The two cousins stepped closer to the mirror but Draco stayed where he was. It was still a bit blurry to him. It was a young girl. She was much smaller than him. She was very young. She was brunette? No, she was blonde. The hair was long, much like his father's. Yet the color was styled like his mother's. The eye color was too hard to see. Yet, he already knew who it was. "Sophie" whispered Draco without thinking. "What?" asked Harry. He didn't know if he said something to him. "Trophy. I won a quidditch match" said Draco quickly.

"Cool! I can't wait till we're second year's and we can try out" said Harry excitedly. "Yeah. You're the very good as a seeker. They have to let you in. If they don't, then I'll make sure my father hears about this" said Draco. Harry laughed a little along with Dudley. Draco looked at them before laughing along with them. "Come on, we should go. It's time for breakfast" said Draco. "Oh, maybe we can get there first! No one's coming back till a couple of days. There's barely any other people here from our house" said Dudley.

"Yeah. Come on, let's race" said Harry. He wanted to see if he could outrun them. He wanted to see if he was good and could be fast on both a broom and his feet. "If you win, I'll get father to buy everyone the newest brooms next year" said Draco. He knew his father would do it to get him on the team. Draco was still going to try out of course. "If you win, I'll buy everyone in our year a present next year" said Harry. When he and Dudley were taken to Gringotts, he found out he was left a fortune. "You will?" asked Draco surprised. "Yeah. I have a lot of money from my parents and I know what everyone in our year is like and what they're interested in" said Harry.
