The Lost Souls

Ch 1 // the beginning

Harry Potter and Dudley Dursley were looking for a compartment at the moment. They have no idea what they're in for but know they'll get through it together. Like they've always done everything. Together.

Except when Vernon Dursley made them do something. He'd make in unfair for Harry. He would make him eat less. Well actaully, Harry ate just fine. It's just that Dudley, Petunia, and Vernon would eat too much.

They both hoped they could be together at their new school and actually be able to bond. They were both really nice at heart. Dudley didn't show it that easily but he was.

Whenever his father wasn't watching, he'd give Harry a smile of encouragement and secretly promised that he'd go give Harry a 'hard time,' or some candy he'd get. Dudley's friends were even nice to Harry but hid it from Vernon.

The two boys remember exactly what could happen if they were caught being nice to each other. Harry would be the one to pay for it. Dudley was 'too special' to Vernon to be hurt.

So instead, Vernon would smack Harry hard across his face every time he saw them bonding. He hated it. Only because he never got along with his cousin, who he always said to Petunia was a wizard. A half-blood.

Petunia would understand because she was the sister of a witch. Petunia has a secret, though. A secret she told Dudley and Harry, only. Not even Vernon knew. She was a witch as well. She had hated that Lily would be talking about interesting magical things with her friend.

Petunia had been jealous and, after they graduated from Hogwarts, she went back to live in the Muggle world having to hide her magical abilities from everyone. She had showed Harry and Dudley a bit of her magic, though. Just to prove it.

Harry was overwhelmed with joy that he would be able to escape the horror of living with his uncle. He was  happy he could finally do something with his cousin without his uncle knowing.

In fact, Vernon wanted to see a picture that Harry was taking care of Dudley. He could care less about Harry's being. He only wanted his son happy. He never cared about Harry. He wanted his son to be the best of the best. He wanted to be proud of him. He wanted Harry to be treated poorly so that his own son could get attention instead of the boy with no parents.

Harry looked at the right side for an empty compartment. Dudley looked at the left side for one too. Near the back, they finally found a compartment empty of students. They put their stuff away and took a seat across from each other.

Harry was excited because he had went with Dudley to a place called Diagon Alley with what they could only describe as a giant, by the name of Hagrid. They felt a bit more comfortable already knowing someone from the wizard world.

A nice old lady came by with a food trolley. Harry, having stopped at the Gringotts Bank, got some money out. He still wasn't completely sure how much was what with the magical money. He knew they were called Knuts, Sickles, and Galleons. He started to remember how much was what. A Sickle was 29 Knuts. A Galleon was 493 Knuts, Or 17 Sickles.

He gave some Galleons and a few
Sickels and Knuts to the lady and received a lot of candy in return. It nearly covered their whole table between them.

They happily started to unwrap their candies when a knock sounded. They turned and saw their was a girl there. Small with bushy brown hair and looked about their age. "Have either of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one" asked the girl. She seemed a bit shy but showed she wasn't afraid of making small conversation.

"No, sorry" said Dudley. "Yeah. I haven't really seen a toad in my life, but I expect it looks somewhat similar to a frog" said Harry. "Oh, okay. Thanks anyways" said the girl. "Wait, er, we're kind of new here. We don't know much about this magic stuff, but we're wondering if you'd like to be our friend, maybe?" asked Dudley.
