Hermione was alive, thankfully, but hasn't woken up yet. It's been almost a month, and everyone's worried about her. All the students were sorry for her. The Hufflepuffs has organized get-well cards, even if she wouldn't read them when they gave it to her.
All the houses signed the cards, but Slytherin gave much more than a card. They gave her their whole time. All of them tried to spend part of their time visiting her, checking in on her, and informing her on the latest news.
Pansy spent the most time with her. Every second she was not in class, she would go straight to the hospital wing to see her. She always gave her a hug when she saw her and when she had to go. She never slept in her dormitory anymore. Only next to Hermione, on a chair Madam Pomfrey had left for her.
"Has she woken up, yet?"
"No"
"Have you slept yet?"
"No"
"I'm sure she'll want to see you conscious and well rested when she does"
"I just want to see her conscious. I have to apologize the moment she wakes up. She hates me, I know it"
Draco sighed, and knelt down on the floor and held her hand.
"Pansy, before anything even happened, she never once said she hated you. No, she'd never do that. She didn't for once second ever hold a grudge against you. She was only worried you did. Trust me when I say this: she does not hate you. Your still her best friend. Nothing could change that"
"Thanks" she smiled, looking at her feet. She still felt she caused a lot of anxiety in her unconscious friend, but those words were perfectly true. Hermione would always focus on worrying for her friends than getting angry at them. That's what made her different. Pansy likes that about her.
"Now will you at least come to dinner?"
"No, she could wake up while I'm gone, or she could be in trouble and she would need me. I can't leave her alone. After leaving her to feel alone for so long, she deserves to feel safe and have my lousy self for company"
"Well, at least get some rest. Your face says it all about your need to shut down. Stay with her if you want, but get some sleep. Okay?"
"Okay, fine. See you later Draco"
"Bye Pans"
Draco hugged her with only his left hand, kissed her forehead in a brotherly sort of way, and left her with her bags under her eyes, which were half closed.
Her hand was holding Hermione's, and they remained that way even when she slipped into a very much needed rest.
While the girl was unaware of her surroundings, Madam Pomfrey made sure to cover the girl with a blanket as the sky faded to night. The matron didn't like that it was cold in the castle, but she couldn't control it. She'd have to leave the two girls in the hospital wing as they were resting. Her sleeping quarters were connected and next to the actual hospital room the girls were in.
