Recess was already done, and the students were already back in their classrooms. Looking around the classroom, my head ached through the loud voices of each student talking to their seatmates or friends. My head always ached hearing loud noise I don't produce, but if I'm the one that's loud or producing the noise, I'm entirely fine with it.
But since the students around me are talking to their friends, so is Jennie who was having a conversation with a girl, and I don't have anyone to go to and talk, I felt out of place. I thought of talking to Jungkook to get to know him better since he was my seatmate and I didn't have to move seats just to talk and make friends with someone, but unfortunately, he was busy talking with a boy, Jimin.
Sighing, I grabbed a pen from my pencil case and brought it closer to my left wrist. I doodled down a small Saturn, along with tiny stars surrounding it. It had been a habit drawing Saturn these days, it makes me feel happy and calm inside.
I traced the doodle once again, making the ink darker so that it would, hopefully, stay longer.
Strangely, the noise lowered down to complete silence and Jungkook sat back on his seat. I lifted my head up out of confusion and saw a man, standing, back straight, on the platform, looking on each of our faces. The vibe he gave off was scary and gave me goosebumps up to the back of my neck. The way his eyes wandered around the room felt like he was shooting daggers. His hair was cut neatly above his ear. And he looked just around thirty-five to forty. Man, he was really scary.
"Good morning class," he started off, and I could tell for sure, he was a teacher you wouldn't want to mess with.
"My name is Mr. Jung San Ah, but just call me Mr. Jung. And I will be your Math teacher for the rest of the school year."
The students stood up with me following their lead. A few were slightly shaking and their hands were forming into a fist, while the others avoided his gaze.
"Good morning, Mr. Jung," they all said in unison.
I just pursed my lips together, not knowing what was happening, but eventually sighed when we all sat back down.
"Do we have any new students here?" He asked, making my heart skip a beat or two.
I kept my head low, asking myself why I didn't bring a hoodie nor a jacket or anything at all that could cover my head. I felt everyone's stares at me.
"Hmm. You over there, the girl with bangs. Are you new? I haven't seen you around here before," I heard Mr. Jung's voice calling out.
I raised my head slowly, attaching an awkward smile on my face.
"U-um, y-yes I am n-new."
"Okay, why don't you introduce yourself? Just stay in your seat."
I breathed out, relieved. But not finding it fair that I have to introduce myself again, even though I know Mr. Jung doesn't know me yet.
"A-annyeonghaseyo my name is L-lalisa M-manoban, but you can call me Lisa."
"Are you a foreigner?"
"Um, yes. I'm from Thailand," I smiled shyly.
"Okay, you may now sit down."
I sat down with my heart racing.
I closed my eyes, inhaling the sweet scent of perfume lingering around, but it wasn't my perfume. It smelled more like a man's perfume, it smelled good though.
"Okay class, I'm gonna be starting with our first lesson this school year...," he went off, earning a bunch of groans from the students, including me, "...okay, our first lesson is calculus..."
