"So, what would we like to eat?" Jennie said, sighing as she placed her hands on the marble counter.
Jisoo had told her mom to not make dinner for us. At first, she hesitated, maybe not trusting us fully with the stove and utensils, but she agreed in the end.
I sat on one of the counter chairs as they thought of food—which of course, I was also thinking about. Rosé rummaged through Jisoo's refrigerator and surprisingly, I got surprised by how close they were.
Looking at them, I saw that they are indeed very close, everyone would think the same at first glance of how they act to each other. They looked very comfortable talking to Jisoo's mother and they seemed to be familiar with the house more than how I thought they actually were.
We heard Rosé gasp and our heads turned to her almost immediately. Her eyes were sparkling and she excitedly took out an egg and a bottle of milk.
"Let's make cookies!" Rosé stood and placed the ingredients on the counter.
"Rosé, it's night time. And I don't think we're gonna be full with just cookies, come on," Jennie stated and playfully rolled her eyes before breaking into a smile.
Unfortunately, Rosé wasn't listening. She was looking through the shelves, possibly looking for flour and other things we needed for baking the cookies.
"How 'bout you, Lisa? What would you like to eat?" Jennie asked.
I started playing with my fingers and pretend to think deeply of what to eat, even though I know I'll just be probably agree to whatever dish they wanted to make.
But deep down, I know I also wanted cookies. Even though I know it's not healthy to not eat an actual meal for the night, it's hard to not please your cravings.
"Anything would do." I smiled.
Cookies.
I said in my head, desperately wanting to please my cravings.
"Let's just make spaghetti, it's less work and it would be easier and faster. We could eat sooner. Less dishes, too." Jisoo said carelessly, possibly dreaming of not doing too much work and end up eating something delicious as well, something I think she fi as perfect, which, I thought so, too.
"Ani~cookies are much better!" Rosé protested.
At that moment, I was quite taken back. I didn't know Rosé could be that cute and childish, of course, I'm just new, after all. But at first glance, the first time I saw her, I thought she would be a lady that would not quite give attention to cute nonsense.
However, she was there in front of me, fighting for what she think would be a better dinner; cookies.
They continued on and on, babbling the same words over an over again. And surprisingly, I didn't complain, even mentally.
I never really enjoyed enjoyed listening to people argue or talk about the same thing over and over again like a broken record, unless of course, the person I'm interacting with is an elder. I respect elders and have always been happy whenever I talked to one. It made me calm inside to have a talk about life back then, when everything was simple. I guess, that's why I always missed the deep, long talks me and my grandparents had shared back in Thailand.
"Shut up!" Jennie said, the annoyance in her voice was visible. And the expression she wore on her face mirrored the tone in her voice.
Jisoo and Rosé stopped their argument and faced Jennie and I did the same.
